Does anyone use Chebe to retain length?

I plan to have a weekly length check for month August to finish the summer strong. I'm loving large Knotless Braids :heart3:

I have some Chebe powder lying around that I bought about a year ago. I've found it to be quite messy to use--but I'm not sure if it was the method I was using. I would make it into a paste and use it on the lengths, braid it, and leave it for a few days. I wasn't consistent with it as my work schedule was hectic and was switching between wigs while working in a more conservative corporate environment. I'm going to look at getting back into it since I work from home now and can more comfortably wear my hair out in different states.

I got so discouraged for a bit at my heat damage that I stepped away from discussing hair for a bit, but I’m feeling better now. Enjoyed most of the summer in a sew-in with curly hair and even went to Italy with it.

Getting my hair braided in a few days for the start of the school year and bracing myself for them to do the usual texturist nonsense. I blowdried my hair so straight last time that my “running errands before the appointment” cornrows were literally unraveling, and they still insisted on running the blow dryer through my hair again lol. I’m convinced they just don’t want to braid type 4 hair longer than like 3 inches, but ah well. I’m not doing it myself and I need the convenience of braids while I get back in the teaching groove.

I'm sorry about your setback. But I'm glad you were able to regroup and have a plan going forward.

Glad you are back with us.

I ran across this video and it was a warning to stay away from heat

I did henna over night. I've been consistent with Ayurveda Tx past couple weeks

Instead of LC weekly bc of heat, going to check in everything I do with Co wash/Wash/ Ayurveda Tx until the end of August when I do LC

Today rinsed out Henna and cowashed

Here is the videos with great tips to achieve our hair goal lengths. What advice are you going to implement in your routine :)

Mine is, remember to Prepoo before Washes

Went away for the weekend so did my hair today. I kept it simple with just shampoo, condition, leave-in, gel and then 3 flat twists.

Decided to try a flat twist down the middle back and then 1 on each side so I could join the ends together and tuck them under. My hair isn't long enough for the two twist to reach it other. I also try to stay away from the middle part down the back to reduce breakage with my shorter hair.

It looks alright but I won't do it again. I have a week to come up with another style to try.

You should explore YouTube for some inspiration :)

once I take out these braids, I'm getting a silk press and trim.

thinking about two strand twists for the remainder of 2025. I want to work on moisturizing daily.

I use Karen's body beautiful sweet ambrosia leave-in. Not sure if its doing any good though. My hair just sucks it up

I didn't feel like resetting today so I did something quick.

I rinsed, conditioned, detangled and then put in deep conditioner. I put a big flat twist in the front and a banana clip bun in the back. The back bun i spit into two twist and tucked the ends under.

I may reset tomorrow and put in more flat twist. With the bun I would need to take out the clip nightly. I prefer to put my hair up and leave it.

KBs this weekend, more details on Braid and Hydrate page
Did not lay down fly aways or anything else before taking this pic

Your braids look really good. Thank you for sharing with us.

Do you use a mirror to help you part the back?

Would these be considered medium braids?

I think I could get with something like this. Maybe I will try over the xmas holidays when I have time to devote to it.

@25InchesStarting'25 , Thank you for keeping this thread going. As always happens, people get busy and threads can get quite for a while.

I just finished doing all the paperwork for my performance review so now I can get back to some normalcy. I've been documenting since July 4th, so I'm glad to be done with it.
