I FINALLY RELAXED!! (A DRY HAIR SITUATION)

Hey Guys!!!
I finally did it!!

Okay so she used Fabu-Relaxer No Lye never even heard of it, but she had a lot of different relaxers and chose that one so I didnt mind

I didnt appreciate how she detangled my curly coils lol... but I got over it
I didnt have any burning or tingling
She warned me that my hair may not take that well initially but over time it will
The only thing is that it seemed like so much hair was coming out!
I kept looking back and shes like dont get worried this is normal because you were natural and probably had a lot of knots
Whatever

She used Nexxuss Shampoo and I dont know what conditioner but it didnt seem thick and rich enough, and I did suffer the consequence of that (DRY HAIR)
So she proceeded to chop if off like I asked her
I wanted it even all around but she did some layering, I wasnt too happy about that
This is the shortest my hair has ever been
And I do like it as time goes by
Initially I was going to cry

Its just extremely dry and I dont know why
However, my hair has always been dry

So I put some NTM silk touch on when I got home which hasnt helped much, maybe I need more?
And in my next wash I plan to use Aveda Damage Remedy so I hope that helps
Also everyone is thinking I'm silly for getting my hair relaxed just to stretch relaxers and do braid outs, and air dry, etc

I planned to make this story short, but here are pics
(don't mind the attempt to be sexy pics)

Awwww! Your hair looks beautiful!! it is so healthy and full, you are off to a wonderful start in your Relaxed Journey, so do you still have any curl left? or you just went straight? either way your hair is Beautiful!!!!

You look great, your hair looks healthy:). You used a no lye and those can cause drying I believe because of calcium deposits. Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil shampoo is supposed to help with calcium deposits from no lye relaxers.

I would deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner as well. Damage remedy is a moderate protein so it may not give you the moisture that you need.

Good Luck!

Ummm I dont have much curl left, not like texlaxing, but its not super bone straight at all, a little wavy at the roots moreso then the ends

thanks for the info though

BEAUTIFUL Ebony!  It! Your Hair Looks Sooooooo Healthy :)

beautiful! your hair looks so thick !

Thanks girls!!

Yaaayyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats, hope you become happier with it. Its cute! I whole head baggyed my first night of the relaxer and it really helped with moisture.

Your hair looks cute. How much did she actually cut? Make sure you have a really good moisturizing poo and condiitoiner for DCing, the Aveda DR maybe fine I never used it but maybe one of the ladies that does can comment on it's moisturizing ability.

I agree with Trimbride, no lye can very drying.

:crybaby:I just loved your natural hair. Okay....I'm better. The new look is cute too.:yep: My former stylist used Fabulaxer on me back in the day. My hair kept getting shorter and shorter but I don't think it necessarily had any thing to do with that particular relaxer, but poor hair care habits:ohwell:

I really have the itch to relax too:sad: I remember your routine being rather simple before. Do you plan on changing it up?

Congrats on the change!!! I'm sure you'll figure out what works best for moisture for your relaxed hair. It look like it took well i (love the body in the purple scrubs) . I've used fabulaxer in the past it was a good brand, alot of dominican salons use it.
Can't wait to see the styles:grin:

Beautiful cut and nice healthy hair! Now you can wrap your hair and it will lie flatter. I think you'll love the transition esp. since you know how to take care of your relaxed hair (thanks LHCF). Your hair will be BSL in 6 months flat!!! Congrats!

Umm well I'll still be DCing weekly, but I just dont know what product to use yet
I was going to use Aveda DR but I think I may have to use Smooth Infusion since my hair was very dry
So just baggying a few times a week (i rarely did that when natural... too lazy)
I may co wash midweek which I also rarely did natural
Other than that same thing, protective styling, air drying in braids (did that while natural)
and MOISTURE!!

Well as you ladies know my hair was SO dry after relaxing, but thanks to MCrzyGr, I woke up with super moist not wet hair
I sprayed S-curl and vaselined my ends and baggied the whole head

HOWEVER!!!!!
When I woke up in the morning I realized my relaxer didnt take well to in the middle of my head and some of my roots
IS THIS OKAY?

I hope you don't mind me asking, but why did you want so much of your hair cut off? Was it breaking off and thinning out really bad?

hmm maybe about 3 inches in some areas, and i would give it up to 5 maybe 6 in others

I was wondering about you and how your relaxer went. You know I couldn't wait to find out! :spank: I love it. You are too cute and your hair is beautiful! Even though she cut alot of hair, (I remember it before) it's still beautiful. How is the dryness issue going??
