I need help ladies. I had to move for awhile to the south and the humidity here is ridiculous. I can do a great twist out or wash and go and the minute I step outside I look like a wooly mammoth. Please help with humidity/anti frizz products that are good for braid outs, twist outs and wash and gos. I've never had this problem up north and it is driving me crazy.

ETA I am 4C fine/cottony

Thanks in advance!
@DST1913 Try Hydra Curlformer. It will change your life!

When I lived in the south humidity would never let my hair be great. I worked with it instead of against it. As mentioned earlier, twist outs are life during humid days, the humidity makes them look fuller, but using a cream based moisturizer and sealing with anti-frizz serums was the key for my style staying put and not getting too out of hand.

Sorry, I have no solutions. This heat and humidity is part of the reason I turned to mini-twists. However, my twists STILL shrink in this humidity!

Also just to add have you tried flax seed gel???
I don't do wash andn go's i do Braid outs and i do the scraf method on the ends.

i didn't mention i hve cotton;y 4a ish hair and i live in TN

Funny I JUST watched a video on how to make flaxseed gel. It looks fairly simple. I'm going to try it out

I live in the South. In the summer I use whipped shea and coconut oil on damp hair. Your twist out will be banging and no swelling.

For wash n gos I use the mane choice 3-n-1 conditioner under the crystal orchid styling gel with my shea butter mix over it lightly so that I have no crunch. Curls last me about a week before they start getting frizzy.

What? I'm going to have to try that. I recently got the coily clip ins from hergivenhair and I am in LOVE. I dont know if my hair will ever see sunlight again.

Any more suggestions ladies on maintaining a decent twist out in Texas? I moved near Houston last year but for most of the time I kept my hair protected/braided underneath crochet braids (goddess locs). I needed to grow my hair out and get some good length. Well I have good length now. And I want to wear my own hair out. I loved my crochet style but I got tired of my hair being under wraps. I am determined to figure this out.

Of course my hair loves S-curl which is the glycerin queen so it sounds like I need to let her go when/if I plan to wear my hair out. I have never lived anywhere with humidity like this before. My skin though is beautiful—soft and supple.

I am a combo of 4a/4b. 4a and thickish in the crown. And the rest is 4a/4b or all 4b and soft/fine.

I can’t wear wash-n-gos — my hair always breaks off with them.

Do you use a particular brand of whipped Shea butter?
