Who has tried it? What did you think?

I purchased this line today, along with the Cherry Almond Bark Deep Conditioner. I have the DR line, and although it's great at strengthening my locks (my hair feels stronger after the treatment), it's not the most moisturizing of products. I could be using it wrong. :look: But I'm hoping that SI will give me a moisture boost, and I'll be able to alternate between the two.

Ladies who have tried both, how do they differ?

Thanks in advance for sharing!

Good Thread. I would like to know too.

So you find that the DR is not that moisturizing? You used all three of their products?

It wasn't very moisturizing and it made detangling a nightmare . So back to the store it went..... I exchanged it for the Brilliant poo & conditioner
But, use it & see how your hair likes it. It was a dud for my hair :nono:

I rotate my Aveda products. And I do find the SI line to be more moisturizing then the DR line. I am currently alternating between the DR, SI and Brilliant line. I use the DR when I am going to press my hair straight. And on my next shampoo I will use the SI because it provides a lot of moisture for my hair when it is in its natural state. And I use the brillant line to get rid of builup; since its a clear colored shampoo it has less emollient properties than SI and DR so it is better at stripping product-builup from my hair.

DR is very good, my hair just doesn't feel as soft after the treatment as it usually does when I get the "top secret" Dominican deep conditioner (the one that they guard info about with their lives :lachen:). The protein was great though, my hair felt stronger.

I have all three, but I haven't used the conditioner yet. Maybe that's the culprit. :look:

Haven't tried SI but I agree DR does NOT moisturise. Brilliant is good for that, so if SI doesn't work for you then make B your next try.

Thanks for your review! Wow...sorry it didn't work for ya! I'm going to give a try tonight. Wish me luck...

How do you like the Brilliant Line?

Thanks Pinkskates! Very informative...

Thanks BG! And no you are NOT sending me back to spend more money! :lachen: J/k. Thanks for the recommendation!

I read in another thread that if you use all three it works best.

Hmm. I was thinking about going to get the treatment itself but now:perplexed

I guess it's just about trial and error, b/c the Aveda rep told me NOT to use all three together, and to only use the conditioner if I wash daily :ohwell:...hence the thought, that the poo and treatment alone would do the trick. Thanks for the tip! I'm going to try this.

I wash my hair 3x per week. First two washes I use the SI line, then on the last one I use all the DRs. I find that this combination leaves my hair strong and moisturized. When i was using strictly DR i found that my hair was becoming hard from all the protein (hair hates it) so I incorporated the SI line and my hair has been thanking me.

I think Im going to try the Brilliant conditioner diluted as a leave in this weekend.

I LOVE the conditioner but the shampoo is just okay nothing great. Like Pinkskates said it's great for cleansing ...not really moisturizing. I like the Shampure poo better. I find the brilliant conditioner more moisturizing than the DR & SI.
