Yes I believe in keeping my ends neat and trimmed. But I would never tell someone that"...you need to get thet sh** cut off.." Wow, that would be so mean of me. For all I know, they might not have the money to go to a salon to get a hair trim; or they may be on medication, and the meds could be jacking up their hair health. You just never know. And It's not in my character to make another person feel bad about their appearance. But, If they were to ask my opinion, I would definitely tell them in a tactful manner, that it is time for a hair trim.:wink2:

Oh yeah, I prefer a neater, fuller hemline myself The hair just moves so much better and looks so much healthier with nice ends. I wouldn't say anything to someone holding onto to uneven ends (damaged or undamaged) for whatever reason, though if that's their choice. People are very touchy about their hair, ya know. If they like it, I love it I guess!

I have uneven ends but they are not split or damaged. I just dont trim. The way I wear my hair down, they look even anyways so they don't bother me.
If someone had the nerve to mention my ends to me just because they are uneven we would definitely have a problem.

I don't like split ends or see thru ends on anyone but I wouldn't tell someone. If I was asked then I would give my suggestion but I am not going to go around offering my advice, because it may not be wanted. Personally, I don't trim my edges because I don't like blunt ends because I braid and twist my hair alot and it won't hold. However, I baggy and take care of my ends....so they aren't jacked up...

My ends aren't even, due to the way I used to just chop away at it. (I've stopped ..now) but they aren't unhealthy. I'm trying to get it all back to one lenght.. then I will even it out.

I would probably look at them with a confused expression trying determine what they are thinking about or what they see when they look at their hair that doesnt give them the urge to tighten it up...

In my experience, people who don't have a real focus on haircare, don't usually realize they have damaged ends. Personally, I prefer consistent length and thickness for short or long hair. It just looks healthier in my opinion. But for some folks, length is length regardless of how straggly the ends are.

But no, it really wouldn't be my place to say unless they asked my opinion.

I personally don't like the way my ends look when my ends are split or need a dusting/trim.. To me the finish look to your hair is having them neat and trimmed.. I have some co-workers who wear their hair down everyday with their hair brushing against their clothes and their ends looks terrible.. They wonder why I wear my bun just about everyday and ask do I trim all the time... Nope don't have too..

I have a really bad habit of staring at scraggly ends on a persons head. I am sometimes AMAZED how a person will walk out with their ends looking so bad. I often wonder do they know the condition of their hair and I always think of ways to 'fix' their problem. But I NEVER EVER EVER say anything to anyone.

This may seem like a stupid question but I'm still new so, How do you really know when you need a trim? I don't see any spilt ends through out my hair but some areas are a bit uneven. So will those uneven parts eventually become those straggedy split ends? Does anybody have a picture of ends that need to be trimmed?

I hate it when someone with jacked ends tries to tell me what to do with my hair. Granted a certain person had BSL hair...well more like APL hair with splits and see through ends that reached to her brastrap. And tried to tell me that I needed a touchup "like right now". She even offered to pay for it. So there is no excuse for why she couldn't take that money, and hit up the salon herself...for a good old fashioned trim.

I don't cringe or get annoyed in any way over someone else's ends. I have enough problems maintaining my own hair, let alone cringing over someone else's. I generally can't even see if someone has split ends unless the damage is extensive. For instance, the whole length is damaged from excessive heat, coloring, bleaching or relaxing incorrectly. In that case, I sometimes briefly feel sorry for the person that they don't know how to take better care of their hair. But hell, maybe they like it like that. I don't know.

As far as thin ends go, I also don't care. I guess I'm not one of those people who cares much about perfect hemlines. I think I feel worse for people who get trims every 4-6 weeks and can't understand why their hair "never grows".

In any case, even if I thought someone should get a trim, I wouldn't say it to them unless they specifically asked me.

I like fairytale ends. I always wish that my hair will grow like that. I rarely see them, but when I do, I usually think they look nice on long hair.

Some people have layers going on, and some just clip away at the split ends without evening everything out. I dont like jacked up ends but I held on to mine during the first stages of my hair growth journey cause cutting them all off would have been to discouraging. Now that they are gone my hair is much better looking and more healthy, that said late into my stretch my ends start looking nasty (to me) but after my perm they lay neat and pretty so who am I to judge?
