It is not the same at all!!!

I want to throw out these jars and find something else to use.

It was not the creamy easy to apply texture that I am used to. It looked and felt like LARD. :nono:

I emailed Qhemet, but I am just so upset this my beloved product was like this.

I think someone recently posted a similar review of this (or maybe another one of her products).

Anyway seen this with their Sidr Tree?

Edited to add:

I did give it a chance, too. I melted it in my hands and applied. :nono: My wet hair does not feel the same as it normally does after putting this on.

Oh, no I'm sorry to hear that Honeydew! I know what you mean about wanting to wean yourself off of something that does quite exist right anymore. That's messed up. Do they accepts returns or exchanges?

you ordered directly from qhemet? uh oh.. i just bought some myself for my sis. i got it from curlicious though.

My hair is dry now and it feels a little better.

I notice on her site that they are "temporarily unavailable".

Maybe she realized there was an issue.

I always used this product on my wet hair and sometimes on my dry hair. This one I have now, would never work on my dry hair.

I don't like it at all.

I can't believe. This is your 'precious'! I hate to hear it let you down. I hope you can work out some sort of deal/exchange.

I know. I have never been able to find anything else that I like as well.

That cream from Sunrise Products may work, but I have been burned so much by others than I don't want to stray from my Sidr Tree Butter Balm. I hope she responds to my email with some good news. I would love to hear that it was some fluke and some bad batches went out or something.

Letitia, I am very tired right now anyway. Maybe this was my queue to go ahead an get braids for a little bit. I have been thinking of doing it and just enjoy wearing my hair out too much.

But today my hair feels fine but overmoisturized. I think the consistency of this cream caused me to apply too much of it. I am wearing my hair up today as a result.

I feel your pain. This is my staple product too. I got two jars like that. I figured it was because I ordered from another vendor instead of ordering directly from her. Have you contacted QB to let them know?

Yeah, I emailed her. Waiting on a response. Both of my newest jars are the same way. It gets more creamy if I melt it in my hands, but it is not as smooth and easy to apply as I am used to. That was one of the selling points for me.

I put too much of it on last night. My hair feels overly soft and mushy today.
I am going to try to stir it up a bit soon to see if it gets smoother.

I am sorry this happened to you, I use to be in love with the heavy cream and once she started "tweaking" the product was never the same for my hair, I use to get softness all day long, but now my hair feels awful and doesn't get that softness that it got when she first made the products, When they were first made they was heaven sent LOL!! But for now they just don't work for me! I always ordered from the site but hopefully she will give you a fresh order and hopefully there was an error.

Keep us Posted!

I got an email from Qhem:

The formula hasn't changed but there may be slight differences in color or
texture from batch to batch as the products are handmade fresh.

The product is currently unavailable due to a supplier backlog with one of
the ingredients so it's future is tenuous anyway.

I don't like the change in product. I understand the reason, but yall know how it is with our staple products. I am still depressed about the Aphogee Keratin changes - and now this.

That is disappointing to hear Honeydew :( I like the Sidr Tree too but I haven't ordered it since late last year. If it's like lard I'm not even going to bother :(

That is what she had told me about the heavy cream but I feel it was more than color, I just wished it would have been left alone! I am sorry you won't get a fresh batch or a new one, That is terrible, That is why I hate to get hooked on a product because once things get good the formula change!

HoneyDew: That is terrible.  I really like the Sidr Butter, too. :(The selling point is that it is a lighter cream. The Curls Culy Q Custard had a similar texture, that I really liked. But they changed the formula  so I haven't repurchased & the QB Sidr Butter was the closest to it:sad:

Why do they have to keep changing the formulas instead of just coming out with a new product:confused:

You shouldn't have to do that :nono: the consistency was one of the main differences between the heavy cream and the sidr tree. I'm glad I didn't order more.

I was looking at the leave in by Barry Fletcher or the Sunrise products Hair Souffle. Both have good ingredients (essential oils, butter, water) with no cones. I was thinking of trying to make my own.

I got a new order of Sidr and Heavy Cream a few weeks ago and both were fine. I hope and pray that my next order is okay. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. So sorry to hear this. :nono:

Hi ladies  the formula for the Amla & Olive Heavy Cream has not changed.

All news regarding product discontinuations and replacements is posted on the announcements page on the website.

Honeydew, the ingredients for the Sidr Tree were exactly the same from batch to batch but slight differences can occur since the products are handmade. Glad to hear it eventually delivered the softness you came to expect. However, due to a recent development with the supplier for one of the ingredients, the product is being discontinued and replaced. The replacement will still be creamy, light and moisturizing but the name and ingredients will be different.

This news has been posted on the website on the announcements page.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] or [email protected] :)
