Her hair looks so easy to manage even air dried. My relaxed hair looks nothing like that air dried. It never ceases to confuse me how efficiently relaxers will straighten kinkier hair but cannot seem to do the trick on curlier hair. I still can't understand the science behind that but lye/no lye relaxers are a big fail for me

24 months is 2 years and hair grows on average about 6 inches per year so if you can retain all you grow it's not unreasonable at all to go from shoulder to waist in that long.
my problem is I can't retain because i abuse my hair with heat twice a week. i honestly think my hair grows even faster than the 1/2 inch per month and yet I still cannot retain what I want to .
