Just curious but my dh dislikes braids on me

Dh loves all my hair styles, but he especially likes when I wear my natural hair (unstraightened).

I don't see it listed, but my husband dislikes me wearing wigs.
I've been wearing wigs for the last 3-4 years as my go to protective style. He is so happy that I'm starting to wear my hair out more.

My hair is up in a twisted bun ( like my avi) 99.9% of the time. I rarely wear my hair out unless it's for a special occasion or the mood hits me. DH doesn't really like my buns lol, he prefers when I wear my hair down and straight.

He is far less supportive of relaxed hair especially because my fine hair was always extra flat and thin looking.

Wigs aren't even allowed in the house!Buns are now being tolerated and weave or braids would not be appreciated at all. So I mostly do buns and braidouts.

I have.. Sometimes he listens.. Honestly I have worn braids in years because I dislike the take down process.. I wear my real hair most of the time with an occasional half wig

See, I've always heard that white men are even more accepting of our natural hair than black men.

As for the question, my DH hates short hair on me. He says women with short hair are cool, just not HIS woman. I've cut my hair short three times in our eighteen year marriage. I don't think he could survive a fourth.

The only thing he ever cried about was when I was going natural and he didn't want me to BC. Mind y'all I had 7 months of new growth so I wasn't even going to be all the way bald, but he still weeped. I ended up doing a long transition, eventually decided on 30 months but I cut it short at 28 because he had had enough of my lengthy rebraiding/blending textures sessions. lol.

Although I did nonchalantly tell him I'd like to try Lupita's MET gala hairstyle and real slowly he turned and was like uh, and to uh... go where?

He hated a nappyish looking French braid I did in a rush one moring when my hair was still damp. he took a picture and all to show me what the back looked like. it still makes me lol thinking about it.
There were other "styles" he turned his nose up at before I found my go to daily sleek pony, that I am sick to death of.

He hasn't openly said he's hated anything on me, but he does love my hair down (which I usually only do over the summer). Braidouts, wash and goes (even though I think they look horrid on me), blow dries, you name it.

He's always so cute because he knows how I am about my hair. He'll cautiously touch it and go, "Your hair is so beautiful and so are you."

I wouldn't say hate but he's not a fan of braids. He tolerates them when I do have them but he just doesn't care for them at all.

Now something he LOVES on me is an afro! I try to wear it for him when I can but surprisingly, afros can be quite a bit of work.

@Dayjoy, I've heard they're more accepting, too. When I wore a barbered cut, I rec'd quite a few stares from those guys.

I don't know lol. He doesn't voice that type of thing, or nothing has pushed him to that point yet .

He did say platinum blonde hair on dark women scares him, so he would tell me right away if I show up looking like Nene lol.

When it comes to weaves and wigs he compliments the ones he likes and doesn't say anything when its "meh". He likes curly and wavey styles. He likes braids also, but I haven't worn them since we've been together. Natural hair wise he likes manipulated styles like braid outs and locs. I don't think he likes BAAs.

@levette Well put it this way, I'm still wearing buns lol. Right now it's straight from flat ironing over the weekend but I wear it up. I do consider his views but he knows I'm really into protective styling my hair.

My husband said that if I every relax my hair, he would cry. He loves all of my styles, even my Celie braids.
