Once you have your hair styled the way you want it how do you get it to stay? Are you pinning it up tying it down, nothing seems to work for me.

What kind of style do you mean? Different styles have different techniques to preserve the look.

Have you tried pin curling your rollerset? I would pin curl, then tie down with a scarf.

Also when I was relaxed, I would do a high pony and pin curl the length; I would get nice, full bodies waves in the morning. I also tied that down with a scarf.

I'm natural now, so I mainly use gel to hold styles like buns and braid outs under a my tried & true scarf. Bonnets never really worked for me, unless I wore it over a scarf.

Thank you, I am going to try to pin curl. I was trying to avoid having to recurl in the am with the curling iron. For some reason the bonnets flatten my hair.

For a straight look with just the ends curled under I wrap my hair at night and cover with a scarf. For loose curls I use large flexirods and then wear a scarf over that. Pin curls never really seemed to work for me, they would be flat and weird looking in the AM. Also, Bantu knots work for some people for maintaining some curl to the hair.
