I've worn this to work. It was a combo of cornrows, silky dreads and two strand twists.

A black owned company? Yes. A very liberal non-profit? Yes. Otherwise no.

I love the style, but I work in accounting and I would feel uncomfortable especially since there is heavy client interaction. Mind you, some folks would absolutely love it, the problem is that others would unfortunately think it's too ethnic.

It is beautiful, but wearing it to work depends on the environment. If it is a conservative corporation, then it would not be appropriate. If it is the type of office where employees are all, wearing eye catching clothing (translate: non suit attire), then it might be perfectly fine.

When I feel uncertain if anything is inappropriate , from head to toe, then I opt towards conservative.

That's beautiful! I feel blessed I work in a building where many embrace their natural hair, even those in leadership positions. I see just as many curly afros, puffs, natural buns, and various braided styles daily as I see straight hair. (The dress code is business casual with strong emphasis on the business part.) This style would not be an issue where I work... Ultimately, it depends on the perception/standards of your leadership. If leadership might have a problem, maybe you can tweak the style to fit (have the braid pattern flow into a beautiful bun) or go for another style that is also pretty AND completely acceptable at work.

The Agency I work for is Black owned and our director and assistant director are both black w/ TWA's. So for me, absolutely.

However, if your workplace is a bit more "stuffy". I say No. It may be too much .

The braided design into a bun or chignon would be very acceptable at my job so yes a agree that tweaking it could make it more appropriate for some in their work place.

I love the style but don't think it would work in my office. I've been trying to talk myself into it but no, I don't think it would be acceptable as is.

I definitely would, but thats just my personality. I wear styles like this all the time.

If you don't want to deal with the oohhhs and aahhhhs I wouldn't do it..

This was my gut reaction too. It is beautiful, but so elaborate. Perhaps if it were shaped a bit more like the bun style....?

you are a lawyer if I remember correctly at a law firm. Unless you are at a super non stuffy firm I don't think a mohawk style would work.

No. My company is black owned too, but we have a conservative dress code. If it was like your 3rd pic OP that you said you've worn before I'd wear that (but either all silky dreds or cornrows), since it's more toned down than the first one.

That's cute but that back is ugly. I don't like the mix of braids and silky twists. Maybe it's the texture differences
