Would you let a Walmart stylist do you hair?

No.

I don't even like shopping there. But trust a Walmart stylist with my precious hair??? No.

Sorry, it could be free and I would decline.

Nope. I trust no stylist at all regardless of status. No one is going to gently comb my hair and make sure my hair is handled with care. All they want is for my hair to look nice regardless of the damage they committed. I guess for a rollerset would be fine. No cutting but again I don't like the way stylist comb your hair

Plus Walmart doesn't treat their employees well. I don't want an angry, underpaid person handling my hair.

I have a friends relative that loves working there. Guess it all depends on the enviroment

She makes 23 an hour. Not a lot but ENOUGH.

I let this spanish chick cut my ends and I won't lie it was the best cut ever.
It was thick at the ends and fluffy. I think the reason was because she applied water at the ends..never had that

My stylist i know are angry which is why I hate looking for new ones. lol
I really want to go into A JCPENNY ULTA OR REGIS. but again i dont feel like paying 100 dollars for a relaxer..........

One of my favorite Youtubers gets a trim at Walmart. She washes and flat irons it herself and asks for a dry trim.

The location doesn't matter, its the stylist that matters. Those shops in Walmarts are not owned by Walmart.

I've gotten a trim done at club Walmart before, when I was in my early teens. The lady trimmed my ends and gave me bangs. It wasn't a bad experience at all.

I have also had my hair trimmed at a Walmart while I was in college in South Dakota. I liked the results.

I found a great stylist, referred to me from a friend, at the Walmart salon she has done my hair (cut), my youngest dd hair (she has long, thick, natural hair) and my oldest ( she is natural and a teenager).....the stylist also has natural hair.

She has a huge repeat customer base of both black and white clients, male and female.

She has since moved to another salon and we will follow her there.

When I was relaxed I got my relaxers done at Walmart and she did a good job. The only reason I stopped going because at that time they implemented a walk in only policy. You couldn't make appointments. It just became inconvenient.

As a previous poster said, check out the place talk to the stylist(s) and then go from there.

Lol. Wal-Mart doesn't employ stylists - SmartStyle does  You can't even purchase a Wal-Mart item in the salon because the registers won't ring it up.

I guess a lot of people bring that negative connotation of Wal-Mart with them to SmartStyle because I hardly ever see anyone in any of their salons. Makes you wonder why they don't move out and go somewhere more reputable...

Back in 2007, when I decided to go short (I was really into this anime called Blood+ and the lead girl had cute short hair) I went into a Smart Style at Walmart with my sister (who stood there shaking her head, repeating "I can not believe...a cartoon...") and let them cut my hair (it was APL) to just above my chin. It was mushroom shaped though, lol. I had to go home and reshape it myself.
I had a dry cut because the lady looked unsure when I walked in, and I was not about to have her fumbling with my hair, washing, drying and straightening it.
I don't remember how much it was though. Maybe $20?

Never again. Back in college, I allowed a Wal-Mart stylist to relax my hair and Lord it was terrible. My hair was severely under-processed and it looked like I had stuck my finger in an electric socket.

Never, ever again.

Yep, I got my hair done at Walmart before and the stylist did a good job. Dont see a difference between them and any other place besides where they decide to pay booth rent.

I'll admit I associate Walmart salon with Walmart and wouldn't go simply because it is walmart.

It seems that the majority of the ladies that have gone there have only gone for a trim. Had anyone gotten relaxers or press and curls there?

I can't see any mentions on my IPhone. PM me if it is a must see. Allons y

I tend to not go to salons like that. I went to my wal-mart for a trim and I ended up with a blunt cut. It was so ugly since my ends are curly. I ended up looking like a triangle head. Had to go to Aveda to fix it and put some layers.

Now I know this could have been due to the stylist not so much that she worked at Walmart, but I did ask her if she had experience with curly hair and she said she did so :nono:

I live in Boston and I've never seen a salon at any of the local Walmart's. Which Walmart are you guys visiting?

Oh and NO LOL
I am always surprised when I read about members here getting relaxers at JC Penney. Sorry but I couldn't do it.

I've gone a few times in my relaxed days in between my stretches for a wash and flat iron. It was a black lady that did my hair so I assumed she had experience and it came out quite nice as she able to get that fresh relaxer look in my 6 month stretch. It says cheap although she charged me a $10 "long hair fee", my hair was barely shoulder length at the time
