Would you let a Walmart stylist do you hair?

I live in Boston and I've never seen a salon at any of the local Walmart's. Which Walmart are you guys visiting?

Oh and NO LOL
I am always surprised when I read about members here getting relaxers at JC Penney. Sorry but I couldn't do it.

I have never seen a walmart salon either.

I can't see any mentions on my IPhone. PM me if it is a must see. Allons y

Yup! Did it last December. She was great. A tad unprofessional, but she straightened my hair perfectly and trimmed my ends like I asked. I would absolutely go again

I hate all things Walmart because of their treatment of employees and small businesses, but in reference to your question - I think there are great stylists at "cheap" unsuspecting places (like Walmart) and WAY over-rated stylists and WAY over-priced placed. It's about the person, not the location.

I got my relaxer at Smartstyle (inside walmart). My stylist did a great job. The only reason I never went back is because I big chopped 2 months after. It was pretty pricy though. I think $50 for the relaxer, $20 for trim and another $20 for a style. Chain salons usually have a la cart prices

When I was relaxed I got my relaxers done at Walmart and she did a good job. The only reason I stopped going because at that time they implemented a walk in only policy. You couldn't make appointments. It just became inconvenient.

As a previous poster said, check out the place talk to the stylist(s) and then go from there.

I haven't been there, but I used to go to fantastic Sam. I loved the three ladies there that did my hair. My hair was extremely healthy. They took very good care of me. I need to find my old stylist. I think I will go back to her when my hair gets longer.

Lol. Wal-Mart doesn't employ stylists - SmartStyle does  You can't even purchase a Wal-Mart item in the salon because the registers won't ring it up.

I guess a lot of people bring that negative connotation of Wal-Mart with them to SmartStyle because I hardly ever see anyone in any of their salons. Makes you wonder why they don't move out and go somewhere more reputable...

i KNOW they would even profit a huge amount more if they moved into target

Well I'm in Texas. Houston
And I never seen a walmart WITHOUT a salon
I guess you walk in on another side?

I've gone a few times in my relaxed days in between my stretches for a wash and flat iron. It was a black lady that did my hair so I assumed she had experience and it came out quite nice as she able to get that fresh relaxer look in my 6 month stretch. It says cheap although she charged me a $10 "long hair fee", my hair was barely shoulder length at the time

lol what?!

I tend to not go to salons like that. I went to my wal-mart for a trim and I ended up with a blunt cut. It was so ugly since my ends are curly. I ended up looking like a triangle head. Had to go to Aveda to fix it and put some layers. Now I know this could have been due to the stylist not so much that she worked at Walmart, but I did ask her if she had experience with curly hair and she said she did so :nono:
They don't work at walmart though lol. It's like saying the workers at Auntie Annie's or McDonalds located in some walmarts work for walmart lol. They work for Smart Style.
