when you say certain products are heavy or weigh down your hair, what does that exactly mean?

It means that your hair has no body, no swang, it doesnt blow in the wind. Serums are light (chi silk infusion), but oils and butters are heavy.

For me, it means that it has caused my hair to become stringy and flat; it will look lifeless and product-laden.

It makes my hair feel heavy, not light and wispy. Makes my hair feel and look dirty.

Heavy products on my hair are very viscous, leaving them sticky, filmy any weighed down.

Anything that makes my hair feel stiff and greasy is considered heavy for me.

products that make my hair, greasy, dull, limp or heavy. it isn't true that oils are heavy, it depends on how much you use.... oils can be categorized as light, medium or heavy in weight/consistency. each person is different in what makes their hair feel this way, some ppl don't have good experiences with serums either. you are going to have to try different products. some ppl have heavy coarse hair that doesn't have swing no matter how or what they apply while others have very light wispy hair that is weighed down by practically everything.
