sorry,i know there's a thread but i don' want to go through 200 + pages to maybe find a brand

I'm considering BKT'ing in several months or so but I want to learn everything I can beforehand. I was wondering which ones you guys are using. Are you applying yourself or going to a salon?
Do you need to blow dry ( i suck bad at blow drying straight) or just flat iron?
Any tips? I'm currently relaxed but have not touched up in close to 6 mths. My natural texture is 3b, relaxed texture is a very frizzy 3a maybe.
I just want less frizz, I don't really desire much curl loosening but I just want the frizz gone.

Arlana the last one I did was my all time favorite brand QOD Max Organiq. I do it like biancaelyse does on her girls, 2 passes at 375 - 410 degrees.

With the Organiq formula you can wash your hair immediately after you flatiron (I wait 5-15 minutes) or you can leave it in your hair for 48 hours (I have never done this) then style as usual.

I have been able to retain my natural curl pattern and have humidity resistance. :) My routine is extremely simple now. I only use WEN products and my Instyler. I wash once a week then wrap my hair during the week. I did my last QOD Treatment on Sept 18. I will do another one in Feb or March. :)

I order the QOD Max Organiq shot for $39. The bottle is very teeny but the product is EXTREMELY concentrated. You have apply it VERY LIGHTLY. That little bottle will cover your entire head even if you have very thick hair.

I use the ceramic Instyler on the highest setting (410 degrees) because it doesn't kill my curl pattern.

When I do my keratin treatments I use my Babyliss Tourmaline Flatiron. I figured out that my Babyliss gives me bone straight hair if I use it weekly so I only use it for keratin treatments, no more than 2 or 3x a year.

I learned about the Instyler from Youtuber TheFancyfaced. I HATED the Instyler at first because I couldn't get the technique right lol. I practiced and copied her technique, now I will not use anything else. I get the smoothness of a flatiron with the body of a rollerset!

My hair looks just like hers in terms of texture, thickness and body. Thanks to QOD it STAYS like that even in high humidity. Woot.

Merry Christmas Dove56 !!!

Arlana I have been doing this for my daughters for 2 1/2 years and their hair reverts fully with no heat damage.

I do it in August and again in Dec/January and they take a break in the summer.

The big bottle costs $200 but it lasts for about 2 years and I usually end up doing the hair of a few other friends/relatives.

Hey ladies--I'm using the Global Keratin Treatment. I get it done at the salon every three months. I've been having it done for the past 5-months now and I absolutely love it. When I wash my hair, my used to be my beautiful 4C hair has transformed into beautiful and easier to handle 3C/4A type.
