So I didn't realize these were going to be so heavy on my head:nono:...I got box braids this weekend, and I am trying to find a style I can wear that doesn't feel like I am weighed down when working out? Any suggestions?

I used to do half up, half down and then braid it down my back. BTW
Is anybody washing their box braids once or twice a week?

This is how I wear my braids while working out. I cowash my braids once a week and shampoo once a month.

ONLY do a low bun! I have had box braids for 4 months now and I work out 6 days a week. I have never been able to do a high bun because #1. It is Heavy and #2. it will fall if you are doing anything above a brisk walk.

And I wash it with conditioner a couple times a week and wash with shampoo weekly. Sweat will cause itchy scalp if you don't rinse.

Enjoy you braids I am sure they are cute!

I haven't had box braids recently, but I did have long twists. They were soooo heavy that it made it really uncomfortable to to work out. I never did find a solution.

^^ I ended up having to take them 2 weeks after I got them:ohwell: it was just too heavy for me, got neck and back pain..:nono: sorry, I could not handle it..
