Heatless styles! Besides a bun, I struggle with any other styles and then I have a desire to use heat....sometimes even a relaxer!

Its like almost 50/50 but not quite. I want my hair to be long but i am not going to hang on to uneven damaged ends, I am going to start trimming every 6 months because my hair needs that. If I just let it grow and trim when I think it needs it that is when it grows uneven and the ends look unhealthy and thin. I say health too because I am trying not to wear it down really. Upped my vitamins, exercise, protein, and water intake. I now do coffee rinses and use caffeinated products. I want it to grow out thick and healthy then i can focus on the length. Long hair isnt pretty when its unhealthy, thin, and damaged.

Length

But for me, to focus on length means I'm focused on health. Because I can't have one without the other.

I do believe u can focus in on just one though.
When I was transitioning I was focused on health because I was cutting my hair every month. So length could not be a focus since I was cutting as part of my long term transition strategy.

now.... health. im dealing with my first real set back now coming to 5 years natural. breakage like crazy. im at bsb...

im gonna cut to a bob cut. start everything again. i dont mind anymore

I voted length. I am going to start incorporating some growth aids, since I seem to be in a healthy place. So far I've tried inversion and am using Megatek on my edges until next year. Going to incorporate sulfur mixes and MN in the new year if I haven't had any setbacks by then.

I view focus on health and length as two different things. If someone is focused on health as a means to get length, then I view that as length-focused.

I will consider someone that is focusing on getting their hair healthy at the expense of length (trimming damaged hair, transitioning from heat damage, chasing blunt ends etc) to be focused on health and not length.

very well explained

I'm at MBL. So, health and volume are my obsessions. Considering that I only use heat once a year and that my hair shrinks up anyway, I'm not obsessed over length anymore.

Length:yep: Once I got educated on my hair, health hasn't been an issue. If I slack off and get increased breakage or shedding I can fix it.

I feel the same way. I have focused on the health of my hair since 2009. It's time I finally reached my length goals without chickening out and chopping away every few years.

Length. I try to have heathy practices to ensure I retain my length and stop my damage from worsening. Even though I know my ends are damaged I only cut off the bare minimum every 2 months. I guess if I was focused on health I would've cut off like 2-3 inches a long time ago instead of slowly trimming away the damage.

My hair is healthy, I want length. My hair growth is so unnoticeable with natural hair. This is why I am considering texlaxing again.

Health. When I first started transitioning I was looking for the magic pill or product to grow my hair out. Until finally I started embracing my hair and focusing on keeping it healthy. Length definitely came faster than I expected because of my change in attitude and approach.

Growth. :look:

In focusing on the end-game (APL), it's kept my regimen on point. So the great benefit to that is healthier hair that retains anyway.

I'm focusing on health. I made it to waistlength...and now I know it's too long & too much for me to handle because I mostly wear it natural. Now I'm bsl however I'm having shedding issues which i've had for a long time...and now my hair is thinning :( so now I'm trying to figure out what is going on.

Length for now. I'm maintaining healthy hair so that I can get to WL to prove to myself that it's possible, then I'll probably cut it to a more manageable length.

Honestly both, my health over length ultimately. Just because I've had length over health and all it did was give me a pretty little setback wrapped in cute purple ribbons....I've come to realize, just like others have said, healthy hair GROWS. I've never seen so much growth pop out of my scalp since I've started keeping up with the health of it. Definitely and always HEALTH.

My main concern is making MBL in time for graduation (seven months to go!) but in order to do that, I have to focus on keeping it healthy. So kinda both, but more length.

both :look:

I'm trying to thicken up my hair while growing it at the same time :look:

I think I care more about health trying to stop breakage/shedding.

Length. I am going to try and retain as much growth as possible from here on out
