Why would curly nikki be on a weave show?

Also the doctors did a segment with the monroe sisters. Idk what they discussed

In his show's daily email, it reads:

"Today Dr. Oz is asking you to find a mirror and take a good look at what you see. Could you be destroying your hair in the name of beauty? Learn why weaves, relaxers, and hot hair appliances are doing your health more harm than good. "

i like the health angle. while lhcfers may stretch, tex lax, etc many women will relax every 4 weeks a the first sight of a kink:nono: and will endure burning if they can get straighter roots (even if said roots will be glued to her burned up scalp)

the average woman, i think (and even many hair stylists) don't use chemical or heat in safe ways.

I REALLY wish I could've been home today to see this! Couldn't even break away to switch the channel in our break room.

How was it? And why was Curly Nikki on there? To discuss the dangers of relaxing, past experiences before going natural, why people wear weaves or what?

I was contacted by Dr. Oz show coordinator, (I was scared they were going to do my hair) and I didn't know how they got my information...

I would love to see the show, if it does repeat itself please post it :)

That is so cool JJamiah! It repeats itself at 10 in my city. Check your listing.

ahhh thank you! So its more an anti weave edition lol :giggle:

The promos for that episode annoyed me. He was yelling 'unbeweavable' (and holding up some weave iirc). I thought it was rather ridiculous. I'm not a fan of his show anyways tho.

He seems to be jumping the shark lately -- dressing up like a woman to give advice on how shoes fit.

Did he have a black female medical doctor on the show at all? If we are the core audience for that, then he needs someone like us to present it.

He was misinformed on a few things too. That whole climbing up the net thing he did was insane. I can't believe that lady even tried doing it hahahahahaha..that lady that had the relaxer was letting what they were saying go in one ear and out the other. Obviously she isn't going to stop relaxer even after all the chemical burns she has had.

I love Dr. Oz and his show, but I have to agree with this. I like his show how it was before--with a more serious tone.
