I've been moisturizing and sealing with water and baby oil lately and i like the results. I'm currently in a weave so I've only been doing this with my hair that is left out, which is the nape, crown, and sides, so idk if I will like it if I do it with my whole head :spinning:.

After wetting my hair to the point to where it's damp, I apply baby oil, and style my hair with method 1 or 2 depending on the look I want for the day. When my hair dries, it's tangle-less, and very shiny and soft.

The method I have been doing is either
1.) For a straighter look, I wrap my nape, crown and sides.
2.) For a wavy/curly look, I bun my hair one on top, one on each side, and one at the nape

I feel water as moisturizer and baby oil are very good for me. Anyone else feel this way about either one?

I also either bun the weave or whatever I want really cause I can always flat-iron or curl it-- it ain't my hair

Yes.. When I was natural I used water every day as a moisturizer. I also used vaseline to seal. water is the best moisturizer of all... this is why when we are looking for a moisturizer we look for water in the first ingredient. I have never used baby oil so I can't speak on that one...

I've never tried that, but I would assume it is super good at locking the moisture of the water in since it is mineral oil. I would just be careful with overuse. Glad it is working for you. :yep:

I seal my 7 month old's hair with J&J's baby oil after I wash her hair. I just slather her in baby oil from head to toe after her bath and I'm done. She's a little slippery for a few minutes after but her skin and hair are super soft...lol.
Haven't tried it on my own hair however. Maybe I will. I love the scent.

Lately, I moisturize with water only. I have it in a bottle and spray my hair every morning. I don't use baby oil to seal though.

thanks for the responses everyone. Yeah it is working very well for my fine hair. My hair likes heavy oils. I've also been figuring out that it likes being wet daily too lol. Water really is a great moisturizer.:yep:

now that I think about it, I remember my mom doing something like this to my hair when I was real little. I remember she would use baby oil to bun and braid my hair and I love how sleek it would make my hair. if only I had pics.

:yep: Baby girl's hair is always soft and smells so good. I caught my husband nuzzling and sniffing her hair absentmindedly while watching tv last night. he looked completely entranced.

The smell was the reason I wanted to try it again in the first place! It smells soooo good, you can use it on your body as well and it's good to sensitive skin too! don't know why I didn't do this sooner.

I've never used them in my hair but I did on my body. I love the baby oil lavender gel. :lick: Smells soooooo good and you have soft skin for daaaaaaaaaaaays. :yep: I might just have to try it lol.

I seal my hair with baby oil before I go swimming. It works OK I guess. I don't use it on a regular basis though. i prefer coconut, argan or olive oil to seal since those are supposedly good for your hair.
