Where were you 30 minutes ago when I bought this ACV :lachen:?! Thats an excellent idea and I couldve saved 3 dollars lol.

I'm excited to try the rinse though.

What I plan to do:

I plan to use a variation of Beamodels recipe. Her hair is quite similar to mine, so I think her recipe will work nicely for me. I too plan to leave it in, however I will not be applying in the shower.

Before I apply my Leave ins I saturate my hair with distilled water, so instead of that I will use the ACV mixture and apply my leave ins directly on top. I'll come back with my results :).

I generally use a capful of ACV to about 44-50 ounces of water, so it is very dilute but I can still smell the ACV in it. I have to agree with Pompous Blue. I have wanted to use pre-made mixes, but I have too much hair and that would be a total waste of money. I pour my mix on as a final rinse and then do a cool water rinse just because I don't want the vinegar smell in my hair. Works well for me this way!

That is a great idea, MileHighDiva...I wish I could find a few good conditioners with ACV in them. Off to search...

I seriously cannot wait to have this first world problem.

Be's Ratio's are the exact dilution instructions on Claudie's ACV Rinse.

OT: I use it with each wash because I ALWAYS DC with Heat. Dryer or Steam (mostly Steam). So, Cuticles are raised, lifted, open, swollen.

This Final Rinse Seals the Deal and locks in all that Moisture & Shine.

I use an acv after every wash too. I had stopped for a while bc the other ratio I was using wasn't doing much for me. I had too much water in it. Like 64 oz to 2 tsp of acv.

I didnt get it right until I checked the ph level for my mixture myself. Which is when I felt comfortable with 16oz - 2 tsp of acv. It gave me a ph around 5. HTH.

Definitely does! Thanks for the suggestion. I have some pH strips around here somewhere. I plan to do 1 tsp. to 8 oz. of water. I'll test the pH before I use it.

That sounds like a good plan Miss Lady! Keep us posted. I know for myself, this ratio is working out perfectly. I do have Hairveda rinse too but I haven't used it yet.

@Beamodel

I used a similar ratio (3-4 teaspoons to 2 cups of water). How often do you use it?

I find that the effects of ACV are very temporary. As soon as my hair dries, it's as though I never used it. It's weird, because, in theory, my porous hair is supposed to benefit from it. But I don't. I don't have hard water either, so.... *shrugs*

3 to 4 tsp might be too much acv to water ratio. Try lowering the amount of acv and try it then. I use it after every wash. Right after I use it, I dnt rinse it out. I t-shirt dry and add my leave in. I have high porosity hair and my hair air dries soft. It takes a while to dry too bc the cuticles are no Longer lifted.

I'm late to the party but I accredit acv rinses to bringing my hair from a high porosity to a normal to low porosity. I haven't used acv religiously in a while but I use to use it twice a week as a final leave in rinse. I would eyeball my measurements...using a splash of acv to significantly more water. Enough that I could smell the acv but the colour of the mixture was almost clear again. For me the key was to get a certain 'feel' when I poured it over my hair. I would look for an almost slimy feel. I don't 'need' acv rinses as much now BUT I have a huge bottle that probably should be used:look:

All I have to say is ACV is DEF. apart on my leave in routine. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE, Oh and did I mention that I LOVE it! My hair was so soft. It took a while to dry, but the results were bangin'!

I used it exactly as I said I would and guys this is definitely going to be apart of my leave routine at every wash :yep:.

If you guys don't mind going to my blog, I wrote a rave about it. The link is in my siggy.

@Beamodel I mentioned you, I hope you don't mind:). If so let me know and I can change it for you.

Not a problem chica. I'm glad the ratio's worked out well for you. I'm gonna check out your blog when I get on my pc, I'm on my phone app right now.

Your hair took a while to dry bc those cuticles were closed girly. Good job!

EnExitStageLeft I check out your blog a week or so ago, you're doing a gray job keeping it updated ;-). I didn't subscribe yet because I was being lazy. I'll be doing a ACV rinse this weekend. I "plan" to not shampoo until the week before my relaxer which is probably in the next 4-6 weeks. I don't want to shampoo because my hair will tangle too much because of all the NG and my fine strands so I figured I can clarify my scalp and hair with ACV in the meantime when needed.

ETA: I'm lo-po so this is probably not a good idea for me. I'll just clarify my scalp with it to prevent build up.

I will just quote what I posted in the other ACV thread...

While browsing through kimmaytube videos, I watched her pH bonus video again and made note of her ACV plus distilled water mix.
Starts at the 3:48 mark.

I/4 teaspoon ACV (undiluted has a pH of 3) in 4oz/120mls of distilled water (neutral pH of 7) got the pH of 4.

I tried out this mix and tested it using pH strips and I got the very similar results.

I use distilled water only because my tap water's pH is 9.3 so I always get consistent pH results of 4ish.

My hair loves it.

From this thread...

i can't even tell you the ratios but i use like 3 or 4 cap fulls of acv and 3 or 4 cap fulls of aloe vera juice and add that to like quart of water (maybe a little more than a quart).

thank you so much guys for this thread. My hair was feeling so dry despite chelating and M&S. I used the ratio I learned here 1tsp/8oz of water. My hair was so soft and moist the next day:yep:

Hey Y'all,

You guys know I have pusha's and most of them do ACV rinses. I've heard the benefits of them and even tried it, but never could get my perfect ratio (I used way to much ACV). Anywho, I wanted to know what you guy's perfect mixture is. Also, if you prefer already made mixes...which one and why?

My acv rinse does a little more than balancing ph levels, but my hair always smells really good and is super soft. I also contribute my reduced shedding to it. It took me a few months to perfect it, but the batch last for 2 months. I use it every week once a week after I shampoo but before I condition.

1 cup of freshly brewed calendula
1 cup of freshly brewed rose/rose petals
1 cup of freshly brewed chamomile tea
1/4 cup of honey
4 sticks of cinnamon
1 cup of apple cider vinegar
2 drops of peppermint oil
2 drops of lemon oil
2 drops of lavender oil
2 drops of rosemary oil
1/4 cup of coconut oil
1/4 cup of another non-essential oil of choice

What about using white vinegar? I hate the smell of apple cider vinegar, so I use between 1 Tbsp to 1 ounce of white vinegar to 15-16 oz cool water. I use it as a final rinse every other day. The night before I pre poo with an oil scalp massage and sometimes add an egg for protein 20 minutes before I hop in the shower. I wash with a shampoo bar, rinse, saturate my hair with honey to condition for at least ten minutes and then rinse with the vinegar mixture. Then I towel dry, apply my leave in conditioner, deal with oil and bun. What happens if you use pure vinegar as a rinse?
