Anyway, I would do medium sized braids and twist the last two or three inches. Let it dry and unravel it.

That will help combat some of that shrinkage an give you a pretty braid out. Twisting the ends gives a prettier finish to the ends, IMO.

Me too, after seeing OP's thread i took out my old wig, gave it a nice wash and removed the combs at the back and the front as i suspect that its the reason for my breakage to my edges and bangs and its horrible. This time around i'm gonna try wearing it without the combs and hope i don't have any embarrassing incidents like it blowing off or shifting on my head.

I kinda think you should rock it out instead of up in a bun/updo. When my hair reaches your length, my dream style is to stretch it by banding it and then doing a big/long braid out. Maybe you can do something like that. If it gets too hot or shrinks too much, maybe you can pull it back into a low ponytail.
