Good Morning. I need help growing back my hair I don't know what natural products to use. I was told by the tech no alcohol products. I was thinking just going to condition only no shampooing. Help!!!!!

You have a Trader Joes near you? Nourish Spa conditioner is inexpensive and effective! I love it for washing.

I'm glad you're okay! Your hair will be long and strong in no time.

Ovation line was created to help people with hair loss and for those that went through treatment.

I did not know that will look into it today. I was told to be careful with my scalp. I lost my hair in the right front. Still have my lenght in the back.
What about products any of these prodcuts

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep
JoJoba Oil
Shea Moisture Style Milk
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditoner
Macadamia Oil Replenishing Spray

Mane & Tail Herbal Gro Conditioner
Mane & Tail Deep Moisturizing Conditioner
Trader Joe's Organic Coconut Oil
African Pride Olive Miracle Anti- Breakage Leave In Conditioner
Vidal Sasoon Blow Dryer

Suave Rosemary Mint Conditioner
Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Conditioner

African Pride Moisture Intense Leave In Conditioner
Motions Define My Curls Creme
100% Organic Coconut Oil
Curl Harmony Deep Repair Masque
Shea Moisture Anti Breakage Masque
Morrocin Oil Moisture Intense Hydration Masque

Trying to go natural.

i would try a line with more natural/organic ingredients. what state is your hair in? have you went through a drastic shedding process? your hair may come in a different texture. it may be very fine and soft, almost like baby hair. let us know the length and status and i can really gauge what products you listed would be beneficial.

Thanks I will attempt to take photos when I get home and post.
I dont want people to be shocked I am bald in the front where the tumor was :nono: makes me want to cry how fast I lost my hair. It is crazy.

GLad you are on the road to recovery :bighug:

I don't have much to add but I cosign on the Trader Joes Nourish spa, if you have one nearby. Castor oil made me itch, though I have read that many people cut it with a lighter oil. I am a huge fan of coconut oil :lick:

Just wondering about the alcohol that the tech told you to avoid. Is that all alcohols, even the "good" fatty ones like cetearyl alcohol or just the drying ones, like isopropyl? Because if so, I bet a lot of the items on your list are full of them. Just a thought. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

please don't cry. you have went through a major event and you had a successful surgery! that is something to celebrate! are you able to massage your scalp at this point? the castor oil and vit e can help aid in scalp massages to promote circulation for hair growth. all of the products you listed aren't bad. but i think you may want to stick to the Shea Moisture line if you are looking for natural products. and i wouldn't mess with chemicals(color, relaxing, etc...) give your hair a year before you get back to that type of stuff.

Thank you, yes on the road to recovery.

That is the reason I asked about the alcholol I do now about ingrediants for prodcuts. She told me to stay away from any products that would injury my scalp where the hair fell out and the radition hit, so I was thinking I would need oil and moisture, because I am BALD in that area.

Help!!!!

I just thought about using an egg with some coconut oil to start tonight. I am soooooor ready to get started, but I dont know what I am doing. SMH

i mean the alcohol. and use products that have natural ingredients. are you trying to do a protein treatment? if so, you need a good moisturizing conditioner to follow. also when you rinse the egg out, use cold water! and i think olive oil would be better with the egg than coconut oil.

(((((((((((((((HUGGING))))))))))))))) you for 3-5 minutes. You can let go but I'm still holding on :look:

How long ago did you complete treatment?
How was the radiation administered?
Are you taking any other meds that may cause hair loss?

The above are just a few of the questions that could help determine if you are ready to buy products or if you should consider hats or wigs. Products don't grow your hair, most of them help you retain what hair you have. The exception to that rule is sulphur and castor oil. There are a few theories on why the work for some.

Feel free to pm me.

Is that the black Jamaican castor oil?
Do I just apply to my scalp where the hair fell out?

People on the board are a fan of both. I've used the regular one and it worked well. I've never tried the Jamaican stuff though. I'm sure the other ladies will chime in as well. I just apply it wherever my hair looked thin.

Congrats on ur recovery. Please take it slowly. The bald area is sensitive and anything u use can easily get absorb into your system. If I were u, I would wear a silk cap on my scalp and a lace wig that is gentle on the scalp temporarily until u can massage the area with oil. Coconut or olive oil should be good. Growth will come in time as long as u do not stress about it. U have endured the more serious/severe part; and ur hair will grow back even more beautiful.

Hey there Hot40, First of all:bighug: the worst is behind you so congrats on having completed your treatment. As for the area where you've lost hair, it will take time before the new growth fills in. The hair shaft just needs to recover so keep on nourishing your scalp with the oil and daily massages. If you don't see progress after a while, perhaps book an appointment with a dermatologist. For now, consistency, time and patience is all it takes. We're here rooting for you so keep us updated with your progress.:grouphug:

:sneakyhug:

I'm happy to hear you are recovering and pray God continues to help you on your journey

I have nothing to add in terms of what to do to grow hair, but I'm sure the lovely ladies of LHCF will come through!
