Go to Manchester, you will love it. I went to a school that was about ten mins out of the city centre, so I know the area pretty well. Its a cheap place to live, its easy to buy hair care, night life is good(and cheap:grin:) and transport links are good. I would have applied there but I want to be independent for a bit and move away from home

Awesome! Im always hearing cool stuff about Manchester. im visiting saturday im so excited!! Do you know anything about Newcastle, Lincoln, and Oxford Brooke's also? I applied to those too? What school do/did you go to??

And I feel you with trying to be independent, blah!

Urgh tell me about it. All my friends are at unis up and down the country and I'm stuck here. Plus I haven't started work yet so I'm stuck at home all day every day.
Do you know if economics is ever in clearing for the other unis. So say you go through extra but dont get a place at swansea (God forbid) you could still apply to these unis after results day and not have to take a gap year. Plus I know that its possible to transfer to a different university once you have started. Sometimes the unis will be willing to let you go straight into second year but some may tell you that you have to start in first year. So you could start at for example coventry and transfer to swansea

I've done clearing, thats what put me in this mess lol! Clearing is horrible if i don't get a place i'm not going to uni (this yr) then. And since i'm not going to live at home decent accommodation after clearing is damn hard to get.

I may do the transfer thing. But i'll ask swansea if they'll be willing to accept me for since i already have my results.. i just hope they say yes and not change their mind when it comes to me actually applying!

Thanks...i just wish i put this choice down as one of my 5 original choices!!

I only know about newcastle out of the one you mentioned. A few of my friends go there and they love it. Its supposed to be a cheap place to live as well. They also love how cheap it is to drink there. I know the university is ranked highly in league tables, so graduate prospects are good. I do know someone that goes to Oxford Brookes, I dont know her that well but according to her facebook she loves it. One thing I do know about Oxford is that it is an expensive place to live.
And I went to St Bedes College, its in Whalley Range/ Moss Side. I dont know if you have watched the show fresh meat but the house where they live is actually on the same street as my school

I wish that you didnt have to lose all of your original choices to apply to another uni. So annoying. Try the transfer thing though. Have you heard of the student room. Its a forum where students discuss uni, a levels and ucas. Its a good place to ask questions

Age: 19 (20 in august first year in univeristy :P)

Regimen: I am relaxed I stretch my relaxers for 4-5 months. Well my hair is always in weaves or braids so when I take it out I deep condition with creme of nature argan oil and sit under the dryer for 30 mins and I co wash with ors hair mayonnaise for a protein treatment

Goal length is BSL

Age : 23
Regimen: as simple as possible. co wash with cheap conditioner approximately every other day. once a week wash with elasta qp creme conditioning shampoo and condition with aphogee 2 min. LOC with hawaiian silky miracle worker, whatever oil is in the kitchen and whatever cowash conditioner is on the go. dust when my ends feel crispy.

i spend most of my time in miniplaits or twists that are plaited at the roots, so i can wash easily. I redo them every 5-6 weeks.
I only wear my hair out for births deaths and marriages because i'm not a patient lady, and maintaining it during uni on a budget called for it.

I went to manchester to do engineering (I went through clearing too) and I loved loved loved it. I recommend it. It's a big uni but a small city so you can afford to actually have a life and do things. Getting around is relatively easy because everything is either one bus away or walking distance. Going out is cheap. With regards to hair, either go to oldham street in the city centre or if you live on campus, you could walk or catch a bus to hulme/moss side (the black people bit). There's a massive asda there and quite a few hair shops. It's also good for getting West Indian and African groceries if you're homesick like that (it's inevitable at uni)

My sister goes to swansea and she loves it. Its super cheap to go out. but travelling around can be expensive. also the campus isn't very close to the city centre. With respect to hair stuff, either go to Cardiff or order online (she gets hers from LDN) I can't tell you as much about that uni.
If anyone wants to know more about manchester though, i'd be happy to help

Age: 19 years young freshman! <3
Regimen: Eh..working on that one. I'm debating between either roller-setting with perm rods or curlformers and just leaving my hair alone...or just doing the co-wash thing a couple times a week and leaving my hair alone..I'm trying to incorporate "juicing" into that some way for moisture purposes, as well as home steam treatments...
Goal length: Midback Length...I think I'm almost APL but I have yet to actually straighten my hair so I don't really know

Age: 20 going on 21
Regi:

Giovanni golden wheat clarifying shampoo
ORS deep conditioner
motions leave-in conditioner (I can afford extra)
silk elements heat style spray (flat ironing or not)

For when I've already broken the bank:
Any shampoo will do
ORS deep con packets or nexxus
*luckily my silk elements goes a long way and theres always wrap/set lotion some where in my mom's bathroom (good lookin' out on her part :drunk:)
* silk elements really does awsome on wet hair, when my hair finally dries it's never hard to comb/ detangle and is pretty smooth

Goal length: BSL all around

My Reggie is simple! Dc at the beginning of the week and keep it in a bun. I may wng on the weekend or twist out. Sometimes I put in mini twists and wear them in a pony. I use Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie as my leave in, and castor or coconut oil to seal. That's it. I do spritz throughout the week. I use Eco styler for my bun to keep it neat.

Anyhoo! I'm going to be in London this weekend any suggestions of things to do?
