Is this amazing or what?? I just saw this and was amazed! Black women can't grow hair, yeah right :lachen: I think this even rivals the longest asian hair record holder!

I'm gonna need her regimen asap

I don't know if she has a choice, I think if she piled all that hair on top of her head her neck would break  Edit, I did find a vid with her hair in a style on top in a post below!

Here's a style I found on her website! It's so pretty!

It mainly looks like she leaves it down though?

Why does this give me the creeps? It's like a bad dream. Like The Grudge. Her dreads look like they're going to come through the screen and strangle me.

It would have taken her over 21 years to grow to that length correct?

This is from her website:

After the first 8yrs of growing my locks, which was already past floor length, I became very ill due to a work related injury. I spent the next 14yrs coping with frequent hospitalizations and surviving 13 surgeries including bilateral mastectomies and suffering both a mild heart attack and a mild stroke..

So apparently only 8 years to get to floor length folks :P

But in terms of her growth rate I think she has the typical 6 inches a year.

So when her hair is dry it's 4.5 pounds, and wet it is 12-15 pounds. It takes 4-6 laarge bottles for a single wash. She drops her locs in a sac and ties it around her waist to take the pressure off her neck while she's doing errands. :perplexed

Definitely not for everyone, haha. I know I wouldn't be able to handle that :nono: My bsl/mbl hair makes me wanna punch someone every wash day lol.

I watched her episode on My Strange Addiction. She needs to cut her hair & shes a psycho.

She refers to her hair as a person. It had a guy name. She straps it in a seat belt. It was a mess. I dont want to tell the whole episode but its a mess

I don't like it dragging on the floor:ohwell:

Apart from that well done. She seems happy.

It looks lovely, but I also don't like that it is dragging on the floor. I have waist length braids in and I am so tired of them always getting in the way. I don't know how she does it. I am sure she is used to it by now.

I thought she was discredited some time back. (no hate, or was that another lady?)

@Ivonnovi, you're right. We discussed it the first time she was posted: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=548107

ETA: Basically it was found she reattached broken off locks and even extensions. I think her story of how much she grew in a certain time was already earning her side-eyes from folks:
@MayaB12 Here is what I found at the website for the Guinness World Records.

http://community.guinnessworldrecords.com/_Longest-Dreadlock-Record-Rested/blog/3083932/7691.html

Longest Dreadlock Record - Rested

Following a review of our guidelines for the longest dreadlock, we have taken expert advice and made the decision to rest this category. The reason for this is that it is difficult, and in many cases impossible, to measure the authenticity of the locks due to expert methods employed in the attachment of hair extensions/ re-attachment of broken off dreadlocks. Effectively the dreadlock can become an extension and therefore impossible to adjudicate accurately. It is for this reason Guinness World Records has decided to rest the category and will no longer be monitoring the category for longest dreadlock.

I was here. :)

LOL Meemee6223 They don't give me the creeps, but I don't like them keeping the city clean. I've seen the video of her washing them and it's a JOB and they take forever to dry so in the name of all that is sane, I don't understand her being OK with them dragging on the floor.

While I do like long hair, I'm not a fan of one long *** single strand standing out alone. It is why this Asian lady's hair doesn't impress me:

The rat tail makes me feel icky!

Now hair like our longest mane girls here have that is full to the ends, I

But I know for some people cutting locs to even them out is out of question, so if she likes it, I love it. Just want her to stop dragging them on the same floor that dirty shoes walk on.

the thing about dreads is that they're not exactly "grown" , arent they formed from cumulative shed hair? basically it's all the hair you grew plus shed forming length somehow...

anyway imo she needs to cut that sh*t off, it's creepy and it's got to be filthy
and I feel this way about undreaded hair past a certain length... it's nasty :nono:

That's what I understood too. I wanted to grow some a few years back but then changed my mind. Of the people I know with locs, the women all combed them out or cut them off eventually but the men still have them.

I feel the same way about locs that I feel about loose hair - after a certain length it's not very flattering at all.

only the styled pic looks nice for me.
The others looks like some creature from the crypt be using her head for a medium .... especially the one of her the kitchen .... **creepy**

That's too much hair for me, real or extended. Good luck with that "lady-with the-long-dreadlocs." I bet they smell a little too. I doubt she's washing and deep conditioning every week or even every month unless she uses the Sea Breeze method.

I'm surprised her edges are still so intact, that has to be a lot of pull and weight.

But at least she can..

- Walk her dog with it
- Double dutch with it
- Play tug of war with it
- Hogtie someone with it
- Escape out of a window of a 3rd story build with it
- Repel a cliff with it
- Tie together a couple of sea turtle, build a raft and escape an island like Captain Jack Sparrow with it

:)

I saw her on "my strange addiction" her hair is giving her physical illness I wonder if she will eventual cut it. She would be an excellent makeover candidate, since she has been wearing this for more than 2 decades.

I'm sorry but after a certain point, too much hair looks disgusting. She needs to chop some of that mess off. And you notice I said hair, not dreadlocks. On anybody, it's just too much. Where is the fun with all that.

I heard about this episode on Nappturalite Radio. I was disgusted just by the audio. I was being judgy and imagined her to be some insecure lady who just needs a thing to feel like she stands out from the crowd. She knows all of that decade old stuck together shed hair could be causing her nerve damage but just won't let go. Welp, good luck with that.
