Though I can get mine at a local henna tattoo shop, I've purchased some from Henna Sooq and have had great results. The customer service and the products are pretty good.

Where are u located? I get mine from Kalyustan's in NYC , very convenient to have a brick amd mortar store to purchase from if u are in the neighborhood its located @ 123 lexington ave between 28th n 29th.

I buy the one for African American/Chemically Treated Hair (Body Art Quality). It's very finely sifted, rinses out easily and appears to be pure.

No dirt, sticks, rocks (as I've heard others can tend to have). The Indigo is also nice.

Good Quality and nice Amounts.

I don't buy the one specific for AA hair I usually stock up on a sale. I love the fact that they test their henna for additives.

Moroccan Henna is still unavailable online from the vendor I planned to use. Does Kalustyan’s typically have Moroccan Henna? It's not listed on their website.

Also, what is the pricing like for indigo powder, also not on their website.

Presuming they have it, I can get my supplies at Kalustyan’s and have my henna & indigo done by the weekend

I don't know if Kalustyan's carries Moroccan henn, bc they repackage all of their powders in their own bags that have the store name. The Indigo in the 7 oz bag is $12.99, and the cassia and henna run about the same price for 16 oz. Indigo seems to be the more expensive of the powders. But if you go to my album in my profile I have pics of each. I didn't purchase the henna bc I buy Nupur and Jamila henna from an Indian grocery around the corner from my house. But I would definitely check it out. I think the powders they sell are good quality and they work fine for me. I just hate paying rediculous shipping prices so I like that I can walk in and buy what I need. If you do happen to make it there, the hair and beauty products are in a room to the left, it's in the cut, so you have to make sure u make a left after the register and then walk to the back. They have henna from Egypt, Lebanon and other places but the gentleman that I spoke with said he did not really know the origins of their henna and he could not confirm if any of their henna is Moroccan.

I did find Moroccan henna in stock at hennaking.com though.
The dye release is 1-2 hours rather than 8 - 12 hours like some of the others.

Ok, ok.. what is Henna and Indigo? I haven't heard of either of these products since my short stint on LHCF. Please enlighten me. Are they conditioners?

I like the fact that they have such an excellent customer service. But, that is probably because it was my first time using henna/indigo and I had a ton of questions. I called them twice while in the process of doing my hair and got a person right away with the answers. I did my henna/indigo about four weeks ago and my hair still looks healthy and shiny. They are a little pricey but I will continue to use Mehandi's.

Henna is a plant that when dried and ground up into a powder (and mixed with water) is used to dye hair. The color is usually an orange tone to a red or brown tone.

Indigo is sometimes called Black henna since it's also a plant that can be used to dye hair. Indigo produces a blue/black color and is sometimes used with henna to get brown color or used right after rinsing out henna to get a black color.

Lawd, four hours?!!!! That is so blasted long. I usually do one. Do you guys find that the colour is deeper and longer lasting when you keep it on that long?
