Hello, steamers whom have issues with crown such as slow growth, breakage, dryness, have using a steamers helped with any of these issues?

It did not, what works best for me is always putting products in the area first.

Say for instance if I am deep conditioning my hair, I make sure to put my deep conditioner in the area first in order to be in my hair for the longest period of time. If I am sitting under my hooded dryer, I will make sure to spray heat protectant in this area first. Or if I am moisturizing and sealing my hair, I give attention to this area first, even before my ends.

I have to keep this area moist as possible cause it will dry out and break in a minute.

Thanks Lissa0821, yeah i am on the fence abt the steamer mainly because of that area needing help. How is it overall for the rest of the hair?

McQuay30, it seems the steamer makes my hair too soft at times. It is moisturized and soft for days but it won't hold a curl. I don't really use my steamer anymore, I just never got use to how hot it is on my scalp.

And that is what i am scared of not enough use for my money.

Uumm, can I have it? :look: j/k

ETA: Oops sorry Op. Answer: My crown area was thinner when I started steaming but I don't attribute my growth or volume retention to my steamer alone. Mine was well worth the money I spent on it.
