So yesterday I did my usual wash/deep condition. Since starting use of AOHSR my new growth and relaxed hair have been behaving nicely

I braided my hair but to my dismay I realized I had left some strands out: :ohwell::ohwell:

What to do?? What to do?? I began to wonder what those strands would look like without the relaxed hair :look::look:

Sooooo I cut it OFF

I am really starting to love my new growth. I always thought my hair would be hard and unruly but it has been so soft since I am using the right products. I am about 5 months post with no plans to transition. I'm considering this a long stretch. This is the LONGEST I have gone without a relaxer so it is exciting to see my natural hair as it evolves :grin:

Here's a few more photos:

and finally my hair journey so far.... 2010 - present

I can't say thank you enough to the women of this board for the helpful advice and tips. My hair has really changed for the better. I can't wait to see the lengths I will achieve in 2013 :yep::yep:

Feel free to add pics of your new growth (transitioning or stretching or wherever you may be in your journey)

What is the deep conditioner do you use? Your hair is so long!!!!

Thanks :)

I have been using a homemade amla oil concoction (amla powder, avocado oil, and rosehip oil). I put the three in a pot and simmer for about 1 hour and then use it as needed. I leave it on for 1 hour and then wash out. After that I've been using the Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose regularly as a deep conditioner and it has worked wonders. I was using the Organics brand of conditioners but my new growth doesn't like it so much.

Wow! Good work chica! I was not expecting you to chop those ends, lol but you go head with yo bad sef! I'm about 6mos post myself and I periodically will miss a few strands too and I'll play with them but I dont cut them! KUTGW.

Thanks OP. I tend to do that from time to time too; I cut off my relaxed pieces around my head to see my NG and to chart my hair growth. I will def post pics sometime this week.

Thanks Nix08. I've been studying the tea rinse thread and am thinking about incorporating teas into my regimen too.

So after 9 years of being on this board, I finally found my hair twin. OP, I think you are my natural hair twin! You have beautiful healthy, long hair!

Your hair is beautiful! I loved the collage of your HJ pics, I've got to admit I wasn't expecting you to say you had cut the strand  So are you considering going natural any time?
