I am NOT trolling...I have a legitimate (although very strange) question

I am not an exotic dancer but find the profession somewhat intriguing and have a hair question about it....

For those of you who are and have long hair, do you still get extensions or do you wear your hair just long and straight? Do you find caring for your hair more difficult? What about retaining or growing your hair and protecting your ends? How often do you get relaxers? Any and all info regarding hair in this profession is appreciated :)

I know this is a very strange question...it really does have a reason behind it

If you're more comfortable PMing me, feel free...thank you :)

Bring on the skrippers! Cause now I'm intrigued Lmfao

:look:why exotic dancers only? there's tons of types of dancing belly, west african, congolese, capioera, etc.

these ppl have some of the same issues that a skripper has in terms of haircare as well as female athletes (profuse sweating, dryness, etc). you trying to start trouble tasha5951:lol:

LOL...I'm not at ALL trying to start trouble....if you look at my thread history, you'll see that I'm not a trouble maker in the least.

I agree with you that other dance types have similar issues but I don't agree that they're the same.

For one, most clubs require that exotic dancers wear their hair down, so they don't have a choice or wearing it in a pony tail, bun, etc.

#2-Exotic dancers have the added issue of umm...clients...wanting to play with/touch their hair.

That is why it's specifically for this profession and not dancers in general. As a dancer myself, I already know about hair care for dancer but not specifially for this profession. :)

From the photos in ET, many dancers wear weaves and wigs, so maybe they are in the "Hide Your Hair" challenge. :)

there are wigs that u can sew around the perimeter of your hairline to keep it down. Or perhaps wig clips.

:look:the clubs i've been to and strippers i know don't have this issue, not saying that it doesn't exist.....most places i know don't allow for a whole lot of touching the "girls" but men can look all they want. this may apply to more upscale places, as opposed to the ratchet-hoodrat type establishments:nono:

i was just playing with you which is why i put the laughing smiley at the end of my question. i am well aware that you are not a trouble maker.

:yep: you just reminded me that i need to look into pole dancing, african, and bellydancing classes. dancing of all kinds including the raunchiness of stripping is truly a skill/artform.

I thought clients weren't allowed to touch the skrippers

I've been doing a lot of umm...:look:"research" on the world of exotic dance and there are some clubs that allow touching and some that done....

As for Pole Dance, I take it at a pole dance fitness studio...it's an AWESOME and INTENSE workout...I highly recommend it

I had a good friend back in the day who was a stripper, and she wore her hair in long loose weaves. She was also a beautician, and hands down did the best weaves I've ever seen, or had. Seriously. One time in college, a guy went looking for the tracks in my weave, and couldn't feel them (he was also pretty stupid, but still). She did her own relaxers, and had a friend who could also do hair do her trims. Her real hair was really thick, and healthy.

I was friends with a stripped in college. The trunk of her car was full of weave and wigs. One night I went with her to work (she was off). One of the girls came by to talk to us and made a few comments about how my friend would "fly" between the poles so gracefully. Then the girl goes and tries to imitate her. Only thing that flew that night was her wig. Right off the stage. No tips for her. She was mad

OMG!!! LOL...that's terrible!

Thank you for sharing :)

I just liked your post because it adds a little spice to LHCF. One of my side end hustles was putting weaves or box braid extensions in strippers heads, they are lousy tippers :lachen:

They had so much tax free cash they kept that fake hair on point. Never met a stripper that worked in their own hair of any color. I am sure they exist, but I just haven't run into them.

Does it count if you sometimes strip for your SO? If so, I am an occasional stripper. As far as hair goes, my hair isn't long enough. I usually wear it in a bun 1st but if my strip comes with a happy ending, it turns into a braidout. I hope this helps:)
