Whats better as a whole product line?

Which products do you use?

Why is it better?

Whats your hair type?

Thanks

I have tried Aubrey Organics and LOVEEEEE it! The product that works best for my hair is the AO GPB conditioner, my hair loves it ! My hair feels much healthier using natural products I can definitely feel a difference between using these products and others. I have yet to try Giovanni but I hear great things about the Direct leave in conditioner.

As an overall product line, Giovanni. I say this because AO shampoos made my hair hard. The AO GPB conditioner is awesome and most of their other conditioners are good. You dont have to use just one line tho. Most people mix and match. :)

I LOVE AUBREY ORGANICS!!!! The GPB, White Camelia, and Honeysucle Rose are my conditioner staples. I don't use anything else (except for Henna which I will try for the first time next weekend! YAY!). The only things I have tried from Giovanni are the Direct Leave In and the VitaPro Fusion leave in. Both contained too much protein for my hair (I have to be careful with protein). I've never tried any of the shampoos from either line.

While both are good product lines, I believe Aubrey Organics remains closer to its mission of delivering products that are more organic/mindful of being healthy.

Which products do you use? I have used Aubrey GHB(?) and Honeysuckle Rose conditioners and have been pleased with the results

Why is it better? Better (more natural ingredients), fewer ingredients.

Whats your hair type? 4a natural

Whats better as a whole product line? Tough question...i love the AO conditioners but hate their shampoos. I love Giovanni's Mainitenance line (leave-ins, etc)

Which products do you use?All of the AO conditioners. My favorite is the honeysuckle Rose, i add raw honey to it. I have Giovanni Direct Leave-in (GREAT FOR DETANGLING AND ROLLERSETS) and the VitaPro Fusion Leave-in (Currently using as a braid spray)

Why is it better?Organic Products are just better IMO period. I think the chemicals they put in other stuff can deteriorate and damage your hair over time

Whats your hair type?4Z :look:

Thanks

Both have products I use that I consider my HG products. I use more Aubrey Organics than Giovanni though, so edge to AO.

Which products do you use?
Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Shampoo & Conditioner; AO Island Naturals Conditioner; Giovanni Direct-Leave In. Have used the Giovanni 50/50 Conditioner, which I like, but perfer the Trader Joe's dupe because it's cheaper. Also used the Giovanni gel.

Why is it better?
I feel like Giovanni's products all have the same ingredients (which are great), but once you have one product, you basically have the product line. I actually feel the difference between AO products.

They are? Hmmm....

Anyway, I vote for AO out of the two. I can get protein free conditioners with AO and not with Giovanni. But also, I like AO ingredients better, in general and the products actually have differences between them.

AO GPB and Giovanni 50:50 are the core of my deep conditioner smoothie.....so I cant really say I like one line over the other....yummy mixed together though :lick:

I would suggest just mixing and matching the lines like an earlier poster said....Its hard to find a line that meets all of your needs

Aubrey is actually quite a bit more natural than Giovanni. I think Aubrey's products tend to be heavier than Giovanni. I haven't really tried enough of Aubrey's products (I haven't tried any leave-ins or styling products) to give a fair point by point comparison. Aubrey gets points just for GPB, and Giovanni Direct is the bestest leave-in ever so I don't know what to tell you
I will say that if you need a line with good styling products, Giovanni has more to offer. I still use their serum and blowdrying gel when I straighten.
I'm 4a natural but I started using products from both lines when I was still relaxed. They both worked well on relaxed and natural for me.

I picked AO. The only thing I like from the Giovanni line was the direct leave in condish.

Girl, you ain't never lied!! AO Honeysuckle Rose Shampoomade my hair very dry while I was still in the shower trying to work it into my hair. It was awful! I never got to try the honeysuckle rose conditioner because they didn't have it at Whole Foods. I do like AO GPB. I plan on trying Giovanni Direct Leave In because my hair twinkie - Ambitious - has good results from it.

This is so funny, I just came back from the health food store and I bought the Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose Condish and Giovanni Direct Leave-In! I'll be road testing these products in the very near future.

I love aubrey organics. Last night I washed my hair with AO chamoille hydrating shampoo and followed up with AO GPB...I am not kidding my hair felt soooo soft and thick even wet...I'm only 3 weeks post(dang)...I'm going to order the primrose oil and jojoba shampoo and conditioner soon but I use a variety of products and get great results.:)

Aubrey Organics! Aubrey Organics!

Why? Because you don't have to use much of it to get slip. It makes the hair feel so good. Giovanni was decent, but it was not enough in the bottle for me. While they are trying to be different with the shape of the bottle, they need to be bringing it's price down because all I got was about 5 good CON washes with it.

I hate the AO shampoo, though.

I agree, the giovanni direct and nutrafix have only one different ingredient between them...

I did a lot of research on AO and there are so many things i would like to try, including their skin care. I'm the type of person though that likes to stick with one line, but it seems that i may have to mix and match as the shampoos sound awful! I dont like that they dont have any styling products (at least from what I've seen) and I've never heard anyone talk about their leave ins etc. Anyway, i'm trying to curb the PJ in me so Im gonna try the giovanni magnetic poo/con, direct and nutrafix and frizz be gone for this relaxer cyle -3 months, then if I'm not satisfied, i'll give AO a try. Thanks for your input ladies. I am so trying to go organic, you never know what these products are doing to us inside!

I've used AO Gpb which is now a staple
I used Giovanni Direct and Vitapro. I preferred the vitapro because it came in a spray bottle, but they both did about the same thing.
I can't compare the two lines since I've only used 3 products. I'll vote after I've tried more.

Both lines are my staple products, but prefer AO. I use AO honeysuckle rose, white camelia, and GPB (i'm planning to add island natural when I stock up -- I do this once each year, the last time was last Nov. - this week). For Giovanni, I use smooth as silk and direct leave.

My hair is in kinky twist now and for my last two deep conditioners I mixed a AO conditioner with smooth as silk and used that. My hair loooooooved it and I will definately keep doing this.

Regarding AO shampoos, I find that if I follow up the shampoo immediately (don't try to comb your hair) with the matching conditiong, I get slip hair (relaxed or natural).

They are both really good. AO is much thicker than Giovanni and a little goes a long way.

Personally I like Aubrey's, it just gives my hair a different feel then the Giovanni products. My staple conditioners are GPB, White Camelia and the Honeysuckle Rose conditioners. I do use Giovanni Direct Leave-In and the Giovanni Reconstructor (not sure if that's the correct name) after my relaxer before i neutralize, i really like the way my hair feels when i use that. I've tried Aubrey's shampoos and yes my hair was extremely hard so i haven't used since but my hair did feel nice when it was dried. I co-wash mainly and poo once a week w/Elucence Clarifying poo. I'm relaxed w/no-lye, fine strands and don't have a clue what my hair type is. Since using these products my hair is very healthy and dosen't shed as much. I have used Henna twice, every 4 weeks and feels that it completes my regimine. I love this site.

Hi, just wanted to put in my vote for AO..My favorite conditioners from them so far are Jojoba and Aloe ( imo the most moisturizing ):grin:it's a little more expensive than the others. Island Naturals (tangles come right out) and then Honeysuckle Rose (didn't really like this one much). I do use the GPB but only as a prepoo because my hair doesn't really like protein. From Giovanni the only thing I have liked so far is the leave in.

Whats better as a whole product line? AO

Which products do you use? From AO, The GPB condishoner, Island Naturals shampoo and conditioner, honeysuckle Rose conditioner. From Giovanni, 50/50 shampoo and conditioner.

Why is it better? shampoos less drying (but not great), conditioner did more than just sit on my hair, except the Honeysuckle whatever one-was kinda wack. AO Island Naturals actually detangled and left my hair pretty soft.

Whats your hair type? 3 b

Thanks[/quote]

I can't vote because I love them both for different reasons. Aubrey conditioners are the bomb and I also think giovanni's is also. I wear them together and hardly ever alone. I think the conditioners work great together. Or I would use the aubrey conditioner after shampooing with giovanni.

AO GPB and Giovanni 50:50 are the core of my deep conditioner smoothie.....so I cant really say I like one line over the other....yummy mixed together though :lick:

hi there,

can you share this with me, please? I would love to try this combo :yep:.

tia,
tishee

I love both of them so I didn't vote in the poll. Aubrey's shampoos do nothing for my hair but tangle them, but their conditioners are wonderful. I love Giovanni shampoos, direct leave in and conditioners but I don't think their conditioners are better for my hair than Aubreys.

I've only tried the Giovanni Direct Leave-in which I love, and A few AO conditioners.

I cannot stand the smell of some of the conditioners. I bought Honeysuckle Rose and :barf:. I just don't like some of the flowery/earthy scents.

They both have great conditioners but I think giovanni's shampoos are better. The AO leaves my hair hard no matter how little I use or how long its been since my last shampoo. I think I ended up using the AO for a body wash and to clean my brushes.
