Ever reluctant to straighten your hair

because you love your curls.

Almost every time i intend to straighten my hair I hold back because I think curls are too nice. But then I leave them alone for to long and i have to wait until next wash. :/

I'm currently facing this problem. My braidout was super defined and I don't want to mess that up. :( I'm trying to convince myself it won't look like this tomorrow, But what if it did?! :look:

I know I'm not the only one that is like this.

Blairx0 it takes me about 1 hour and a half to blow dry and flat iron my hair now. It used to take me 3 hours :\

It's all in the practice. Since i have been natural 3 years now, i have learned how to use heat properly so i am no longer afraid of it :) .. i used to feel like a murderer tho everytime i put a flat iron to it

I never know what to do with it after it's straightened. Then again it never gets as sleek as I want it to even when I go to the hair dresser. Maybe with more length I'll feel differently.

The same thing happens to me. I deep condition a lot prior to straightening and then my curls come out looking so nice that I find myself reluctant to go with the straightening process.

I use heat protectant and low-ish heat and I am still scared I'll get heat damage. I'm also really annoyed that I can't get my hair to wrap anymore :perplexed

During my first year or two being natural, I was reluctant to straighten for fear of damage. These days I'm not so afraid of damage, however I have yet to straighten my hair. Lol!! I just have no desire to do it. I've blown out my hair many times and that is enough work as it is! Also, I was relaxed for most of my life so I know how my hair looks straight. Maybe when my hair reaches an impressive-for-me length I'll break out the flatiron. :-)

SAAAAAME HERE!!! I think about flat ironing all the time, but just can't bring myself to do it. I don't want to *** with my curls. And I've had heat damage before...*shudders* besides, I'm in the process of growing my color out. Taking a page from ms Kimmaytube. Wait until I reach my hair goal first, then I can flat iron to my hearts content.
