Honestly the mother is right. It is just her hair. It's not like she put some dye or a relaxer on it where the chemicals can actually affect her skin and scalp. My only concern is that if the baby moves then she can get burned. Also heat this young can lead to damage, thinning and breakage later. But if this is The mothers preference then more power to her.

5 months old, that's a darn shame.
What kind of mother takes a hot comb or flat iron to their newborn's head?
I don't care if it's not permanent, It's ignorant, looks ridiculous and it's and dangerous.

Some people shouldn't have kids. If you feel the need to straighten a childs hair before they can even crawl you have failed at parenting already.

To me the issue isn't straight vs. curly or "self-hate at a young age." It's the fact that the baby is 5 freaking months old. I'm not sure what method of straightening was done. If it was by flat iron, hot comb, or a relaxer, I would personally like to kick the mother's teeth in myself. Chemicals on a 5 month old's scalp? No ma'am. Either way, it's ALL wrong. :nono:

That is seriously crazy! I wished my DD had more hair at 5 months, but I wasn't about to slap a wig on her or draw some in with a brow pencil. Just because its not a relaxer doesn't make it any less ignorant or trifling (or dangerous).

5 month olds squirm and move so much! All it would've taken was one wrong turn and the baby's face could've been burned :(

What kind of mother thinks about straightening a 5 months old hair? Why would something like that even cross her mind?

Now this is a damn shame smh....like why would someone want to straighten a five month old babies hair...it so delicate & soft..im suprised the babise hair didnt burn or melt off...sigh..

It's just her hair..it's just her f****** hair.

The most ignorant comment of life and this mother needs to be dragged into the street and slapped senseless. "Oh, it's just your face, don't worry about it."

Stupid broad. Yes, stupid if she actually used heat to straighten this baby's hair.

I can accept a lot of things but this is NOT one of them. Anytime you put a child at risk because you're a freaking idiot you deserve the wrath you get, and that goes with those freaky arsed pageant parents that make their babies get botox and their eyebrows waxed.

It's just her hair...I don't give a damn!! How freaking stupid, ignorant and dumb is this mother?? Who does this?? I'm blown away that someone would even think to do this to a 5 month old.

I can't with these dumb arse people! Omg if I was her sister, mother or friend and saw this I don't care if it is her child I would've blacked out on her.

It's just her hair...omg how flucking stupid.

That's a shame.
That baby is probably gonna get a relaxer for her first birthday.
