More hair = more money

How do u ladies feel about this ( forgot to mention this a few weeks ago) sooo I went into this salon I started going to for a TU (I been there many times but for wash and sets) so the time b4 the TU I asked how much do u charge for relaxer she said 35 if u bring your own 40 if it's ours. I said ok I have a big tub at home and she said it will be 35. A couple weeks later I go back for my TU, when time to pay she goes $43 ($3 because I used heat with my conditioner) I'm like how? U said its 35 last time. She says but u have mizani (with a stink attitude). I said okay u never mentioned anything about mizani b4. I bought my mizani there's no difference in what your doing if it was olive oil y am I being charged more. And she goes well that's what it is! (being oh so rude) I said you guys are scammers and terrible business owners that's y it's always dead in here. Paid and walked the hell out.

It wasn't the price because it's still not bad at all but it's just the principle and the respect. If they would have told me that before I would have had no problem paying or maybe went where I used to go to get my TU and pay $30 (stopped going because I don't like their attitude).

She was wrong for that. Glad you stood up and called her out for what she was!

I would have done what you did.

I like to know exactly how much I will be charged before having a service done. I won't even bother with a stylist who throws in random fees, that's tacky.

When I did go to salons, they would charge me more because they had to use more relaxer...I think it was more the thickness than the length. Another reason I just need to stay away from salons.

When I had my locs, a lady I used to go to in Brooklyn charged us by how long our locs were.

By the Dominicans I go to now they charge one flat rate.

Exactly. I felt like I was being taken advantage of or something. They're silly though because they rather be greedy and rude about a little $5 and loose a customer instead of admitting they were wrong. I couldn't agree with you more. Plain old TACKY

I charge for length as well. Imagine charging someone with 4 inch hair the same as you would charge someone for 12 inch hair? Heck no. I don't straighten hair much but for two strand twists, locs, etc.. yea. I would never charge extra for thickness though; I think that is ridiculous. I also don't understand the logic behind charging someone more for their own products because of the brand. They were definitely con artists.
