And they are Sunflower oil, sesame oil, safflower oil, peanut oil, grape seed oil, avocado oil and almond oil. The reason I did this was to pick a oil that will protect my hair from the sun. Now I need yal help with picking the lightest or thinnest oil so it won't weigh my hair down. Can you tell me which one it is? Thanks in advance! :)

Grapeseed is light. Many ladies here use it as a natural heat protectant, including me. It doesn't do much for reversion for my natural 4ab hair.

High Linoleic Acid Safflower Oil won't clog your pores or irritate your skin if any happens to venture onto your face.

As one of the posters said becareful with some of the oils touching your face, I broke out in a rash around my hair line :cry2: .

I use Wen Fig Oil. Light and smells great. :)

Yup I know, I can't have extra moisture put in my face other than my natural oils or I will break out. I can't even put lotion on my face. But the oils in my face are balanced anyway. It makes just enough, that's why I wouldn't get a bang, I would probably have a whole forehead of bumps

I like grapeseed oil because it's easy to find and inexpensive. Plus it's high in ceramides which is great for relaxed hair.

Argan oil is my absolute fave! I blend it with a tidbit of chi silk infusion when I flatiron to get a smooth finish

I use grapeseed oil as a heat protectant. I like that it's light, inexpensive and gets the job done. It protects against temperatures up to 485 degrees.:yep:

I'm considering getting the grapes red oil so I can be able to moisturize without the oil blocking it to get it because I moisturize everyday

Grapeseed Oil hands down. It's the lightest oil I've ever used and leaves my hair oh so soft. It also protects hair from up to 425+ against heat.

 Argan oil is liquid gold but $$$

Yeah Argan oil is some good stuff for hair and all over body. So mad when I bought the Josie Maran bottle for $50 from Sephora and dropped it on my bathroom floor.

I really like safflower oil. Grapeseed is even lighter, but I've never tried it alone. Argan oil is great too, and also very light. I've never used either as a heat protectant.

Sent from my HTC Evo

You did WHA????????????????????????????????????????????????

Yes ma'am....my knees buckled and my tears puddled on the floor with my sacred Argan oil. Dramatic, I know

It's heavy, but it may be worth experimenting with castor oil if you're not too heavy handed.

castor oil's boiling point is ~595oF or so.

I did a blow out with it, and it was OKish. I was going to flat iron, but ran out of time. It wasnt the best blowout, though. Will see how it flat irons this weekend. Direct heat from plates might get a diff result than hot air...?
