usually once a month, but when my new growth starts coming in, i flat iron my roots after my rollerset. i dust all the time. i refuse to do big trims anymore. plus i am not concerned with having straight hemline. i like my V! even when i was natural, i never straightened my hair to trim/dust. i went without heat for almost two years.

I usually only flat iron 1-2x a year but recently have been doing BKTs every 3-4 months. When straight I mostly dust but trim 1/4" if necessary. It brings out all the splits.

I've flat ironed 6 times this year! Since I've learned to do so safely I do it when I feel like doing it with no damage whatsoever. This is one of my best hair years!

Sheesh I average flat ironing 2x a month but this month it's been more. I have straightened it a couple times more for some events..interviews...

Sometimes I prefer the predictability of straight hair

I don't use a heat pass for dusting, but if i use heat I'll dust. I used heat and dusted twice last year. I dusted once so far this year w/o heat.

In the past..once every 4 months. Now that I am transitioning....I haven't used heat since December. Deathly afraid of heat damage.
