1st, please don't judge me because I wasn't fitna pay that much money for something that I wasn't positive would work.

4 packs 20.00 and i think I got my money worth. when these fail or tear up, i'll invest in the real deal.

I got the knockoffs as well, and they are Awesome. And they still work just fine a year later, and I wasn't payin all that money for the "real" ones either. Ain't nothin wrong with a bootleg!! :look:

Wow, the curls came out perfectly. Did you use a setting lotion? Did you sit under a dryer? *waits on the purchasing details*

I'm certain the knockoffs have to be as good a the real deal because I have the real ones and have only used them a few times and they have a few snags in them where the hook will get stuck sometimes...so the re ones can't be all that special. Im going to get some of the knockoffs to add to mine because I could use about ten more so I'm not scraping at the end trying to make sure I have enough to finish my whole head.

HeChangedMyName your natural hair looks great and your curls look awesome! Knock off or not, your curls look just like mine I have Curl Formers...wish I had known about the others before I spent all that $!!!

Just ordered two packs of 20 on eBay. Just do a search for magic leverage they were $5.99 each, it's from Hong Kong so the estimated time is between July 2- July 16th. Oh well I saved $46 bucks!

ebay. they are magic leverage. I got four packs for 22.00 including shipping.

I did use setting foam. I used ORS foaming setting lotion and a dab of some product I have in a little yellow tube that you apply to curly hair when you are going to straighten it with heat. I planned to sit under the dryer but the 50-11 things I had to do kept getting in the way, I ended up hitting it with the hand dryer at the end, just to make sure it was dry.

I heard the magic leverage doesn't last long.
I;m not sure, but for the price I think its worth it even if you only get one pack just to make sure you'll like it.

Details:

  • The colors are random and don't mean anything, they are just pretty. I measured the length and these are great for a newly natural or short hair sisters. The longer ones were 9" and the shorter ones were 6".
  • The wand was rough aroung the tip so I filed it with a nail file to smooth it out.
  • some of the ends were a bit stuck together and I had to stick my finger in to open it up and if I found rough tips from this, I just put that end near the ends of my hair so it couldn't snag and pull out any hair from.
  • I did it this time on damp hair, next time I plan to try it on dry hair but dampening it with product on each section.
  • I used 50 of them because i wanted to be sure I was doing it right.
  • I noticed that if my sections were too big that it got "stuck" as I was trying to pull my hair thru.

I love the pink and orange ones (real ones), I think imma get a set of 24 to go along with mines (knock-offs).

I've been looking at those on ebay. They have been on my watch list forever. Thanks for the post.

I didnt know they made knock offs! I have curlformers, but didnt buy enough packs. My hair is super thick...
Deff need to check these out.
Off to ebay!!

i really want some more extra wide and long but the sizes look like wide and long. Does anyone know where I could get extra wide and long for a discount?

winona, check the seller happy curls on eBay. I bought mine from her and they're cheaper than on curl formers site. Sorry I can't post a link now because I'm on my iPad. If you can't find her, I'll post the link when I get on my computer. She has very positive reviews.

I was tempted to buy the extra wide and extra long, but curlformers are an inch longer then the knock offs so I am waiting. The extra inch for me is a make or break it for the deal, I don't want to have to cut off extra hair so soon!

I already own CF extra long and wide.

Your hair looks great OP! :yep:

I see it on Ebay but they dont put what sizes they are. It just says "20 piece set"

eta. forget it, I found it

I bought one pack yesterday to try, i got mine for a couple cents less in the 99 cents store. I tried it on one quarter size section, took it out after less than three hours and i can tell you already that i loved the results.

Well considering that i won't be using this everyday i'm sure i will get my money's work. I'm really not into paying so much for the original besides too little comes in the pack and you have to get short and wide/narrow or long and narrow; two different prices for too little.

Side Note: My hair was not freshly washed, the section the curl former on was 2 weeks post washed hair so i can only imagine how much more beautiful it will be on freshly washed hair.
