No. The expense of relaxers wasn't the reason why I went natural to begin with.

My question is, whats wrong with them? I'm just too skeptical to buy it.

ETA: Btw I wouldn't go back to relaxing if they were giving the best relaxer away for free.:nono:

OMG I love this place If I were relaxed I would not buy my relaxers here just because of the price. They may be good but I would not have taken the chance

Hmm. I'm making my own assumption. Maybe relaxers are being reduced down in price because there are a lot of women on the natural and protective style movement.

That's hilarious!! But seriously, you couldn't pay me to put a perm in my hair. A receding hairline and two bald spots = natchal for life!

This.

Probably old overstock. I'll pass. Maybe people can find other household uses for them - like unclogging drains.

Maybe they made a mistake on the order. That palate is huge.

I was in a BSS yesterday though and a ton of companies have "transitioning kits" out. I looked at a few and they were just choked full of chemicals for straightening the hair using heat or some other method. :perplexed

Nope they always have sales like this Everyday my cousin says it's a "cover" for something lol. Last week they had andis blowdryers on sale for $10.00 and Kentucky Maid Irons for $10-19 Dollars.

Relaxer lover checkin' in!

How much is it?

What kind of relaxer is it?

Can't see pic....

Sent from my Comet using LHCF

It just dawned on me while looking at that pic....if relaxers take the "Africa" out of your hair....why put "Africa" or "African" anything as the brand name of the relaxer? Isn't that crazy?

And no...i'll pass on the chemical burns:nono:

BINGO!!!
Ding ding ding ding DING!!! TEll her what she's won folks! :lachen:

I have always said that WE as consumers have a lot more POWER in the market than we realize. If we were to simply STOP buying certain things (*cough* *cough* gasoline), the prices would eventually come down. :look:

I'm sure our relaxed sisters are thanking us naturals! Now relaxers are cheaper for THEM! lol :notworthy:

I'd rather flat iron at 500 degrees F.

^^:ohsnap: LOL!

I have to agree though. :look: As challenging as my natural hair can be sometimes, I definitely do NOT miss getting touchups and the chemical burns, the thinning hair, dandruff, etc. I'd fry my hair with heat and get heat damage before giving in to the creamy crack again. :nono:

I will never understand why some women are cheap about relaxers (but will pay tons for the right weave). I'll pay for a quality relaxer, make no sense to take the risk of hair loss over a few dollars.

Oh girl, relaxed heads should be having a field day right now, and be doing a haul :yay: I sure do wish gasoline would go down but since I live in a fat city that ain't gon happen .

I had problems with relaxers also. Though my hair looked nice relaxed, it NEVER adapted to relaxers. I started to have scalp problems from heavy dandruff to a gray film being stuck to my scalp..even when I clarified. Nasty. :barf: All of us aren't made for relaxers, and I would rather have my curls than to be a human salt shaker with a sticky trap for a scalp

I'm relaxed but I dont know ANYONE using African Pride box relaxers. So they will probably still be there.

Lynnerie - Thanks for answering my question!

Um no, African Pride won't be put on my head ever. I don't care if it's free! :lachen:

The quality relaxers are still the same price. Maybe cheap relaxers improperly applied are to blame for so many burns, scabs, balding......

I've never been burned by relaxers.

For 99 cents I am wondering what other uses are there for this?

Hmm...something household....getting rid of water stains from the shower, and getting rid of that ring in the toilet

It can't possibly be a premium quality relaxer for that price.

This. I will only use a trusted brand(vitale, olive oil) if I am in a hurry or pinch. But for the most part I will always try to have mizani bb sensitive scalp on hand:yep:
