How'd You Wear Your Hair When....

With my first two children I had my hair in individual braids. With my last DD I did two French braids, one on either side of my head. I looked so cute...

i was looking busted when i had my son. i wasn't due for another week (39 weeks) and i went into labor early. i was suppose to get my hair braided that friday. i kept my pink scarf on. with my dd, that was scheduled (38 weeks) so i was able to get my hair cornrowed. i looked like an extra from Set It Off

Oohhh weee! I had straightened my hair the week before to trim and twist it up. Neither of those things happened. by the time all was said and done my whole head reverted and I looked a dank sweltering mess. I also lost my scarf in the sheets when they were changed after my water broke.

I was in braids, single small human hair ones for all of them. Pictures were being taken and I wanted to be picture perfect holding my little ones LOL!

An extremely old twist out pulled back into a puff!

Next time I will put in some twists on dry hair let those suckers stay in for a few weeks.

Thanks ladies.

I wanna look cute in my first pics w/ baby (yeah i know nobody will be lookin at me anyway, but still) and I can't figure out what to do.

Also, I dont want to have to think about my hair at all for the first week after his birth.

I was thinking just flatironing it and wearing it in a high bun for labor/birth, and taking down the bun for pics....but I feel like I may sweat it out with all the hard work I'll be doin.

Twists was another option, and would be easy and low fuss...but I don't feel super cute with them...

I've never given birth but I know my mom wore two french braids when she delivered me. She (well, WE) looks so cute in the pictures. :)

the first time I have my hair and cornrows. I was going to do the same with the second 1, but he came a little early and I didn't get the chance. so a curly afro it was. I was initially worried that my hair would be a matted mess, but it was just fine.

I wore it in a loose, high, air dried bun - loose to avoid tension; high in order to lay comfortably upon my back; air dried so that I could freshen it up with a few slaps of water, if necessary.

Dd1 was pre lhcf, once my contractions started I took a shower did my makeup and curl ironed my hair:look:. Dd2 post lhcf I did a scarf wrap with the ends in a bun (my then, to bed style)

Cornrows and crochet/latch hook curly hair. I wore them up in a messy bun mainly.

It was nice to have hair off of my back and shoulders. And the cornrows helped my scalp to breathe.

This is awful... The day before I gave birth to my DD I got a fresh relaxer and a trim. My hair looked fly! LOL I wanted nice hospital pics

Individual Braids. All 5 times :look:.

Believe me - those suckers come in HAN-DEEE in the weeks following the birth. Even if you haven't managed to change the nightgown you've been in for the past 2 days, at least you'll be able to splash some water on your face and still look presentable when company comes over.

My hair was wild and relaxed when I had my son. When I was preparing to have my daughter and was transitioning I decided to get braids. I waited until I was 39 weeks, idk what I was thinking smh, and I went into labor with half my head braided and the other half in Celie braids.

First baby: big high puff bun(looked so cute), second baby: miss celie plait braids (I looked a Damn mess), third baby: wavy hair weave a la Kim kardashian(needless to say my hair looked great for someone who had just given birth).

I only remember my hair during my babygirl's birth because I was induced. I took pics looking all happy with my hair pulled back in a neat but full ponytail. Then there was the "after" pic. My hair was a hot mess, all over the place! I don't know WHAT happened but I have evidence that it wasn't pretty. :lachen:

In a WnG. My son came 2 weeks before I expected him. It completely shrank up during labor. I got a lot of compliments on it from the nurses but when I got home and tried to detangle... it was a hot mess.

I really wish I could remember my first (my son born in 1999-- I'll have to go dig up pics now), but with my second (DD in 2002) I wore a wash n go. I even redid it in the shower on day two. All the nurses kept saying babygirl had curly hair just like her mother. I guess they didn't know about texlax. :giggle:
