When I got my last relaxer I went to the "School" I asked for a Senior Student. I told her: I want you to Relax me, Neutralize me & put on a Conditioner.

She said: It will still be the same price. I told her I was fine with that.:perplexed

She Relaxed it, Neutralized it and Slapped on a Conditioner. I pulled 2 plastic caps out of my Purse & a Scarf.

I put them on and tied my Scarf on and went up to pay. The other people in the Salon/School was looking like::spinning:

I heard her say, all she wanted was it Relaxed and she said she would finish everything else at home.

She didn't ask me No questions, didn't try to give me any "helpful hints" didn't tell me I needed a trim, had breakage, Nada. She did EXACTLY what I asked her to do.:yep:

I will be going back in a few weeks. Unfortunately, that particular younglady was graduating that Friday.

But, that's my new Game Plan.:yep:

At least yoy got a warning. Years ago the stylist turned me away from the mirror, then I felt her hand moving across my shoulder blades. This was AFTER she'd cut it 3 weeks before! She used that same crap about the style. You know you're gonna PS after a week or 2 so no shaping is needed.

Either way, I'd love to see your pics. Keep in mind that 17 MONTHs of work is at stake!!!

^^ I agree with the hair school. They do EXACTLY what you tell them. Ask for someone with salon experience.

Two words: Don't go! By the way: when you do allow them to trim a certain amount, they never listen. They will keep cutting and cutting the same area. So the pieces falling look like they are a 1/2 inch (like you requested). But you will have no idea until you get home that they went over the same spot 2-3 times, cutting 1/2 inch pieces over and over. Thats how people here end up w/2-4inch cuts. You can't trust the short pieces you see falling or even the mirror. My sisters stylist explained this on how she mistakenly cut 2 inches instead of 1/4-1/2 inch trim as requested.

DON'T GO THERE! Don't let her in your hair. Avoid the regret.

Maybe you and your sister can start doing each other's hair instead. Do not just go to a salon because it is familiar. Especially when there have been bad experiences.

My 2 cents:

I would not go to her at all!!! But if you just have to, then only allow her to relax and style. I would not let her trim anything. In March 2011, I was a little past full SL and my stylist said I needed a trim and she gave me a full out cut, with layers and all!! I was very upset, but she insisted that I needed it. I trusted her and went about the business of keeping my hair healthy and using no heat what so ever. Five months later in August I was almost APL, this time she trimmed me without asking. Once she started I said, Hey, I don't need a trim. She told me she had already started and may as well finish or my hair would be uneven. Cut me all the way back to CBL!!!! So, now I'm almost back my August 2011 length and she will never touch my head again, other than to shampoo and style, and I'm hesitant about that. My advice: Go with your gut!!! If you are apprehensive, then don't do it. I would hate for you to lose your progress. Good luck, I pray it works out. :yep:

I totally agree!!!!

OP, it will take you less time to find another stylist than it will for you to recover from "loss of progress".

Do not let someone touch YOUR HAIR, unless YOU ARE SURE they understand YOUR DESIRED "END STATE", or YOU WILL LOSE MORE THAN $
