So I have been wearing buns for about 6 months now:blush: and frankly that gets boring. So I decided to treat my hair to a straighten and do my year end length check.

I don't know if Im rusty but it took sooooo long to flat iron. I realized my iron is a piece of junk because it has only one setting and my hair still felt hot and one pass and I saw it smoking :nono:. So needless to say I will be laying off straightening for a long time and also investing in a quality iron.

So yea here are the pics....I also attached a pic of my "signature" bun which I'm pretty sick of at this point:rolleyes:.

I understand being tired of the bun, but your ends look good, so somethings working. And you've got nice volume/thickness. I agree you might want to get rid of that flat iron. There are many affordable better quality irons out there. I got mine (cortex platinum, with good plates can't remember all the features, temp. setting 0-450[?]) from marshalls or tjmaxx for less than $40. KUTGW!

Getting very close to APL, you must be getting excited. Are you happy with your progress? Your bun looks cute, maybe put some loose strands in the front for change up.

Thanks @Bnster! You have made some amazing progress yourself. Your hair looks thick and lush:lick:

To be perfectly honest I'm not too happy with my progress because I have had setbacks that resulted in broken off hair - literally sections with like 4 inches of hair.

Nonetheless,I'm trying not to focus on that too much so I don't get discouraged and quit lol. Hence, the progress thread and straightening for length check

Ah belletropjolie when I read you'd lost 4" - the word sh*t came out of my mouth  - Sorry to hear that, you will rebound in no time. Thanks for the compliments on my progress, however I may cut off 2" or so come January, I will see, to thicken up my ends.
:bighug:

Your hair looks great! Keep up the bunning bc its working:yep::yep:. On a different note in the pic your hair reminds me of mine grows faster on the right

How did you tuck your ends in? Your bun actually looks really nice and full. I like the headband.

The bun itself is super easy- I just slicked my hair back using a scrunchie, I twirled my ends around the it and then secured it with elastic or bobby pins

Thanks Bnster, I'm surprised I even have hair at this point. You know, I just trimmed my hair and maybe its my imagination but it appears fuller now. It was
