just thinking about Ateyaa....

I have never gotten the impression she was ever growing her hair to the lengths that are often discussed on this forum so it has always made sense to me that her hair is relatively the same length cause she trims in on a regular.

^ This. I think people overlook the fact that she CHOOSES to keep her hair at one particular length, SL or a little above. Her swing is always on point when she has a fresh cut, when it grows out it still looks pretty but doesn't have as much bounce and body.

Anyway, I liked when she did videos more on her relaxed hair. Back then she mostly used ApHogee and I found that's when her hair looked amazing, you could really see the strength in her strands (if that makes sense lol) even after using heat. I did NOT like her Nu-Gro phase, I don't know if it was because when she used it that it was RIGHT after her sew-in disaster but I found her hair didn't look as good. Now that she's using Kenra, I'm happy, it seems to be doing her hair good and it looks moisturized. I also miss her makeup videos, some may say that her makeup was a bit much or overdone but they were entertaining to watch and her looks were interesting. She seems to go through stages with her hair and right now she's in her weaving cycle. I mostly watch her videos when she does a reveal or sew-in take down now.

Oh and I admit, putting a wig over a weave was more than ridiculous. I just couldn't comprehend the point of that video AT ALL. Her head looked extra puffy, like she was smuggling something under there. I think her excuse was that if you wanted to change the style of your weave from day to night, you could slap a wig on as a quick alternative? Something like that, I just didn't get it, why not just style the weave differently with a clip or something? Despite that though, I feel as though people blew it out of proportion. Like users making videos to mock her and her faux pas was way too much for ONE video, especially since Ateya is so sweet and genuine. I swear people act like they never looked foolish or a little silly a day in their lives. She had a little error in judgement, laugh about it a little and move on.

I like Ateyaa. I must admit though, I like the older Ateyaa better. I love and use Aphogee because of her. I like the older vids because I'm not a lace wig person or weave person and thats what most, of her vids are about.

Sent from my Samsung Epic :)

I really love Ateya. Her recent video confirmed what I always knew and wondered why others couldnt wrap their minds around. She likes her hair shoulder length. Idk why it was so hard of a concept here for people to grasp.

Beautytalk69 I dont think the person that sews her hair in is an actual stylist. They just sew the weave in and this way her hair is already straight for the leave out section.

Her hair is very nice. The only thing that I don't understand is why she flat irons her hair before getting a sew in? Oh well..I wish my hair could handle as much heat as hers.

I just watched her last video. The moral of the story, for me, is that I need to go get some of those rollers on my lunch break. :look: Ooh, that was pretty!

IIRC, people were arguing that she desired longer hair because she buys/installs/reviews long weaves/sew-ins/lace-fronts.

Funny how the same logic isn't applied to those long-haired ladies who sport short weaves/sew-ins/etc.

I believe she could prefer her length...

Maybe you are right..Because she always mentions she has to go get it cut after. But what I don't understand is, why not just flat iron the leave out? Because she is always the one who flat irons it anyway..

I didn't really see the big fuss over her hair, I suppose it's because I'm used to seeing a bunch of swangin' straight hair in my family. Nunna that stiff ish.
