Why should anyone care if they do that? whatever it takes to keep them motivated, I say go for it. If you think you are making progress regardless of if you are deluding yourself or not, it will keep you working to achieve your goals, but if everything you do shows no result, you may as well just throw in the towel.
I say good for them, whatever lenght you think you've achieved I agree. It is not my place to correct you or dash your dream. Lean back, lean forward, bend your body all the way to the floor for all I care, just do what keeps you positive.
That is exactly why I do not ever comment to that effect. While I am free to think any way I want, I do not exercise such freedoms when verbally. I keep those thoughts to myself. On another note, I think it's only fair for a responder to comment honestly on an issue that a poster has specifically asked about.
