Love the hair, and you are my hair-oine on several different levels. So tell me EXACTLY what you did to get all that growth? (Now and earlier...)

You said Wen and wash and go? Just low manipulation, not PSing? Please tell me and type slooooowllllly so I can understand. :)

LadyRaider...YEP!!! Ok, Doc...I'm almost embarrassed to type this but here it goes: Literally, just Wen Cleansing Conditioner--and   only washing once every 3 to 4 weeks. Every other wash, I deep condition (either with the steamer or just leave the conditioner on my head for an extended amount of time).

In between, I wet my hair everyday, sometimes in the shower--most times with the spray bottle and put my hair up into a ponytail and added gel to the edges (every morning) and Mixed Chicks to the length of my hair every 4 to 5 days.

That's literally it...most days, my hair looked like the attachment...If I wanted to be "cute", I put it over to the side, lol!

I really, really like it!:love4: I'm glad you've been babying your hair. I think the darker color is stunning and it looks much more healthy!

Beautiful color and what a gorgeous, gleam your hair has, Janet. I just adore DSD. She's a talented 'Hair Whisperer'. Congratulations on your wonderful progress.

 I LOVE that hair color! Shucks, now you've got me itching for color and I NEVER color my hair....hmmmm. :scratchch

Were the undertones of black intentional? If/when I ever dye my hair I want it to be a contrast of my black hair and a the color I choose just like yours is.

I loooove this new color too, it is so flattering on you! You really are a proof that colored hair can be extremely healthy and grow. Yes, we will get there for sure!

Pretty. You can maintain with henna for two-in-one benefit

hothair...Really? I can put henna on top of already colored hair? Do share

The black really isn't black--it's more of a dark brown--my natural color is off black, and the top is about 3 shades lighter than my natural color. The reason for the two tones is because the blonde was lifted...not color- so dontspeakdefeat put the red on my blonde but because you can't put color on top of color, she would have had to lift the dark brown on the top and then re-do the color as red and since I'm going for health, we just re-colored it the same color as before which was a dark brown...:spinning::drunk::spinning::drunk: Hope that makes sense!!!

Love the red on you! I completely understand feeling like you haven't had enough growth for the years you've been natural. I'm hoping to have your growth in 2012.
This is how I feel some time NappyNelle, I am not one to compare my growth to others, but seeing other people's growhth for the number of years makes me feel like thats the average amount of growth for those many years, which leads me to evaluate my own growth, which leads to dissatisfaction.:nono: Anyway, lets stay focused, this thread is a good example.

:yep: As long as its body quality not those boxed ones. It thickened my hair but I don't like the reddish shades on me I like cool honey blonde so I now use cassia for that shine. It should really help since your hair was bleached just remember to do a good moisturising dc afterwards

oh lawd......good god! how i've been waiting for an update from you Janet, and my my, thank you....it was worth the wait because your hair is so beautiful and HEALTHY!

CONGRATS!

Janet', it looks gorgeous and healthy!

You and I are in the same boat. I should have been at WL as well, but like you, I suffered several setbacks. We will get there!:yep:
