Gorgeous.. I was waiting for you to post an update.. Your hair looks perfect! First you got your thickness..now you go your length..Do you attribute your thickness to taking a break from straightening? castor oil? other products? Please tell us.. :yep:

Well, I would definitely say that letting my hair rest has helped with retention...but, I was stalled for about 7/8 months at the same length...You probably don't want to hear this but when I was obsessive about my length (meaning doubling up on my vits, using Boundless Tresses, Deep Conditioning consistently, etc.) I got thickness but not length...and I needed thickness, no doubt, but I wanted length! Then from July to now, I really just let my hair be...I washed with WEN, deep conditioned, and washed and went...and finally my hair started retaining again...

Gorgeous color and you are making wonderful progress! I really need to start tracking my retention with a length check shirt. :yep:

Yes! Length shirts are great, but sometimes they can be deceiving because when you wash them, sometimes they shrink, stretch, so down the line, they can lose their accuracy...I normally take a pic in my "tracking bra"...I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

:congrats: on your progress hon!

Your hair is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!! I  the red on you :yep: I want to get red color when I reach WL :look: Your hair has truly taken off since July....I need some growth like that  So do share what you have been doing in the past several months to reach your hair goals? Because it is obvious working for you...you truly have inspired me

Honestly, LilMissSunshine5 I just let it be...I am the queen of wash and go pony's...Everyday, I would get up in the morn, wet it, put ecostyler gel on the edges to smooth them down and go about my business...that seemed to work best for me...

Beautiful hair. I know that defeat feeling, I am starting to feel it some times with my hair. I have ben getting this feeling that it should be longer than it is and that its not growing as fast as it used to.
Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Please don't get defeated Mandy4610...I do love your hair!!!! I know how annoying things especially when you are doing everything that you are supposed to be doing...but take it from me--there are valleys and peaks--and the you will reach your goals--just keep pushing through :bighug:

Love the red on you! I completely understand feeling like you haven't had enough growth for the years you've been natural. I'm hoping to have your growth in 2012.

Janet, your hair look great! Im looking at your hair from a year ago in your fotki and you made such great progess.

Beautiful color! And your hair is gorgeous ... you have the right attitude about retaining length. Each of us will reach our length goal as long as we don't quit.

I love the color!!
And your hair looks great-fantastic progress and so thick and healthy....I love the shape of the trim.

Love the hair, and you are my hair-oine on several different levels. So tell me EXACTLY what you did to get all that growth? (Now and earlier...)

You said Wen and wash and go? Just low manipulation, not PSing? Please tell me and type slooooowllllly so I can understand. :)

Nice to see you posting again! The color looks great, and you're definitely making progress since your last update. Your ends look really good too!

Hi Lovely Ladies,

I won't make this a long post...

Shout out to @dontspeakdefeat aka www.tamikabell.com for being the bestest hair stylist in the world!!! :yep: :yep:

If you recall this thread made in July 2011:

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=555965

You know how "defeated" I was with my blonde hair color leading to a lack of retention. I knew that I was going to go darker but because life happened, I just got around to doing it yesterday!!!

So, here are the pics...I'm still getting used to the color, but I do like it and hopefully, this will put me on the fast track for retention!!

And ladies, let me just tell you...NEVER GIVE UP!!! We all have goals and we all have setbacks...I'm still fighting through mine, but I'm not going to give up my goal--I know that I should've been WL by now but I'm not--and that's okay...cause I'll get there...and so will you!!!

Thanks for looking ladies and have a fab Saturday!!!!

Pic #1: From July 2011

Thanks!! You are a gem yourself! Never give up is my middle name and I am glad you didn't. Can't wait to see you at waist length!!

Hammercy :lovedrool: Beautimous! and sooo shiny, love it! :yep: I have a weakness for red hair.

:bouncy: You look so good! Love the color!! I wondered what happened after your last update! Very pretty. :D

Nooooooooooooooooooo! Why are you tempting me? You know I love red and that I'm trying to resist coloring. This is so pretty. I love your hair.

The red is so beautiful and goes really well with your skin tone. Great job to you and your stylist!

'LIKE'

I'm absolutely loving the red, I can't stop staring at your hair now! I think this colour is much better, it's not such a harsh contrast like the blonde but it pops! I think you'll grow to love it, it's a good start that you already like the colour. Plus with all the praise in this thread, you might love it more than the blonde very soon. Anyway, I ADORE it. Nice choice and nice cut!
