mix my cowashing conditioner with oil (he hydralicious +hot6) tangles fall right out and curls are super smooth and clump nicely... and best part is my hair isn't oily

anyone else do this?

I was putting olive oil in my hair before washing it with shampoo but it's hard to wash out and anything left makes my head hot and itchy.

I've done this with either EVOO or coconut oil. It's amazing and I love it right after shampooing

Yep! I mix my conditioner with oil in a little pop top bottle from Sally's, shake it up a little bit to mix it and take that into the shower with me. My favorite oils to use when cowashing are rice bran, wheat germ and castor.

Omg this thread is right on time. I had to cut a mini dread out this morning. I will be trying this tomorrow morning.

Yeah I've been doing it for a while now. I miss either EVCO or EVOO in and I love the slip I get and it makes my hair softer than if I just used the coditioner alone.

So funny that you posted this because I use this exact regimen to loosen all that NG I have. I also use HE Hello Hydration w/argan oil-plastic cap and under the dryer for 20 minutes. After my rinse out my comb glides smoothly through. I'm 15 weeks post relaxer and that's the only way I've been able to make it this far. Aiming for another 5 weeks and depending on how that goes I might try and go longer, who knows I may never get a relaxer again!!

^indarican I eyeball it, but I'd say about 2-3 teaspoons of oil to a few glops of conditioner. The oil really does go a long way. :yep:

Hmph. I use EVCO as a prepoo and jojoba after I cowash but I've never used oil IN my conditioner. I am willing to give it a try TONIGHT! :yay: Why not?

I use a seamfree hercules comb, helps me to comb my knotty hair with ease, both when its wet and dry! I also agree a good conditioner with slip helps. I've also started using my homemade aloe spritz mixed with glycerin and essential oils.I spray it on my hair every night before combing, my breakage has drastically reduced. If only i discovered these techniques years ago, i would be sitting on my hair right now! lol x

Yea I just rediscovered Hot 6 Oil myself.. love the ceramide oils in it. I mixed some with my leave-in and applied to damp hair and it detangled like a dream.

I like to mix EVOO or Avocado Oil in my condish it makes my hair super soft :) I have coconut oil but I have yet to use it LOL

Just cowashed my neck length hair with Neutrogena daily conditioner and then deep conditioner with a mix of Neutrogena triple moisture hair mask and EVCO. I let it sit in my hair for about an hour (a lot longer than I ever d/c) and once I hopped out of the shower, there was no detangling. I ran my seamless magic star comb through my 15-week-post hair in a breeze and I could literally feel the difference in my texture. This is becoming part of the reggie!

You know I would usually only do this with my deep treatment after doing my aphogee treatments! I should throw a little oil in with the rest of my conditioner.

been doing this since day one of my HHJ. Can't imagine not doing it. i'm a recovered product junkie so it makes even the cheapest conditioners i have lying around worth their weight. :yep:
