i am doing a relaxer on my sis and she also bought a bkt and it came earlier than expected so i was wondering can you do a bkt RIGHT AFTER you do a relaxer? i have searched and i keep getting info on everything related but my specific answer :perplexed

I've never done a BKT but chemicals on chemicals is a big nono. I would wait 4-6 weeks after ANY chemical service before I relax. HTH!

L.Brown1114 Why are you or she even considering doing both? Shouldn't you decide on one or the other? She wasn't planning on doing both was she? And if she just hadn't decided, I think you should wait till the other order comes in so you can decide--not just rush into one because it came first. :nono:

BKT takes better when hair is already chemically weakened. I typically hear of people doing BKTs after a color treatment.

But those that do BKT on relaxed hair is often because they are growing out their relaxer.

In your sister's case, I don't understand the need for both.

What is she trying to achieve?
