Does anyone Shampoo daily??

I don't use shampoo daily however, I do rinse and or co wash nearly daily due to working out. No problems with that.

Why do you want to shampoo daily?

I've started doing that recently, for about two weeks now. My hair looks and feels a lot better for it, it's shinier and softer. I certainly won't be doing it once it's longer though, it takes too much time

Shampoo is quite strong stuff, even the SLS free ones, I could never poo every day, it would kill my hair.

I was reading about the Crown and Glory Technique and it said for faster growth shampoo the scalp daily with a mild shampoo.....so I was wondering if anyone did this??

:yep: I have been shampooing daily for about a week only because I have a boil on my scalp :ohwell: and my shampoo has tea tree oil and neem and all kinds of good things that are bringing it down quick

My hair is definitely shinier and softer too, but something about it feels off.. not in a bad way, just feels different from how my hair usually does

I won't keep this up for more than another week or so but it's good to know that I can shampoo often without any bad results

Thanks answering. I hadn't heard of that technique. How mild are they talking? I use a mild shampoo that is supposed to mild enough to use daily but I have never put it to the test. Honestly, I think you could just as good results using the twice a week poo and dc technique but that's just my opinion.

It depends on a couple of things including the length and texture of your hair, your scalp (is it oily or dry, etc) the climate and the shampoo. If you live in a hot tropical climate - or in the summer it can be done. It won't work with cheapie shampoo though - it should be mild shampoo and you can dilute it with water or aloe gel.

I tried shampooing daily for a week and I actually love the results. this may have something to do with me always diluting the shampoo, or the fact that I usually focus only on the scalp. my hair is very soft , and smooth, but that maybe because I use aubrey gpb condish.

nope. the thought has never even crossed my mind. I'd be interested in reading some more responses though--i don't think it would hurt if the shampoo is mild and sufficiently diluted

Shampooing daily sounds a bit harsh on the hair, i high doubt you'll accumulate that much build up on a daily basis to be shampooing each day.

How about co-washing? That should be a lot gentler on your hair and scalp :)

On the website she recommends CON shampoo....as of current, I co-wash twice a wek, but i was just wondering if people really do this and have had great results...ya know??

Don't Caucasians wash their hair everyday?

Yes but my cousin decided to be like "us" and wash less frequently and it works for him. His hair has shine and body. It isn't dull and mousy looking. I think I wash more than he does lol. Another cousin washes daily but doesn't understand why she has a halo of breakage around her hairline. I think it depends on the type of products, the techniques (female cousin doesn't use leave ins or moisturizer, just gel), and the hair type (fine, medium, coarse, porosity levels)

i have shampooed everyday and found that my hair did grow faster, i use either creme of nature poo and or a neutralizing shampoo to keep my hair balanced, i also deep condition on a regular basis and leave in conditioner. i use lots of shea butter and jbco and evoo....when i straighten my hair, i only use the pressing comb no flat iron. i found that on my hair, the flat iron causes breakage faster...my hair likes heat and lots of it....when pressing, i also use a heat protectant spray...hth....

I do :look: When I bun in the fall and winter, I don't. But in the summer and spring, errrryday. My hair is extremely fine, thin and has low porosity. I can't say that it grows less or more when shampooing everyday. I wear wngs daily when doing this and I use Infusium23 and a dab of Cantu Shea Butter as my leave ins then a tiny dollop of Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus curling milk. At night, I spray in Hawaiin Silky 14-1 and put it in a high bun. In the morning I wash all that product out with Mixed Silk shampoo or Shea Moisture shampoo. If I were to not shampoo, my hair would be weighed down and sticky with product because my hair is so fine and thin.

It does work for some people. Seriously. Specially some people with scalp issues. Nobody should be saying "nobody should do this or that with their hair". I find that offensive. It's their choice. Some people's hair also get build-up very fast, and shampooing daily benefits them.

If someone is shampooing everyday, they probably have a very good reason to do so.

Devachan's No-poo is good for every day. I get that clean scalp feeling, but I never feel like I am stripping my hair of moisture.

No-poo and one condition are great together IMO. I just recently switched back to that and I am loving it.

I don't. I do shampoo about every 10 days and cowash every 3-4 days. With that said, if you want to shampoo daily it cant be with cheap Vo5 type shampoos. A very light, diluted, sulfate free one may work.

Not all. Most I know (women) shampoo every other day. Other times water rinse alternating with shampoo. The guys I know (except my ex) shampoo daily.

Unless a person has excessive oil they should not be lathering up daily. Three to four times a week or less should be sufficient for any hair type/race. The dryer your scalp the less you should be shampooing. Hair and the follicles are delicate and using detergents on it that often does not seem healthy to me. And we should never ever use ammonium lauryl or sodium lauryl sulfates. The laureth sulfates are gentler but still harsh.

I did and the only reason I stopped is because I ran out of the cleanser. :drunk: But I ordered more and will get back to that routine once I get it in my greedy little fingers. :giggle:

I use Silk Dreams Whip My Hair which is extremely mild. One member actually uses it as a cowashing conditioner. :yep:

I've found that daily use of WMH helped to cut down my shedding and breakage. Didn't keep it up long enough to notice any other benefits, but obviously my hair and scalp love it.
