I got a dumb question

yes ... I believe ceramides infuse fatty acids into the hair shaft which helps with moisture retention ... One of my favorites is wheat germ oil.

I don't think my hair likes oils period. I did the oil rinsing and my hair felt sooo good. Now at a few days later, my hair feels kinda crunchy. I used grapeseed oil. Do these oils have alot of protein? My hair feels the same way when I use coconut oil and Aloe Vera Juice. :ohwell:

I'm not completely sure but I don't think grapeseed or coconut oil have protein. I think maybe it's a combination of things that could make your hair crunchy, not just the oils.

Not sure about grapeseed but coconut oil either acts like a protein or has those properties. That why some people can't use coconut oil if they are protein sensitive

I'm using wheat germ oil, I hope it doesn't make my hair hard or crunchy!!!!:drunk:

@pookaloo83, ceramides are in a lot of products, so you don't have to rely on oils only to get them.

Some of my favorite lines have ceramides in them. Aubrey Organics, Nexxus. More products at this link: http://www.blackhairinformation.com...eramides-and-what-do-they-mean-for-your-hair/

I have an even dumber question. What exactly are ceramides and what products have them??

DrC don't make me bring out my big stick :bat: I just gave a link above your post that explains what they are and gives you a list of products with them. :spank:

+1 I also think so..
I didn't see she was talking about coconut oil too. only a few of coconut oil has to be applied, lots of people get crunchy hair with it. some says it because coconut oil become solid at a certain temperature before you even notice it.

Be sure to use your oils sparingly. Over saturation can make your hair feel hard and crisp as well.

Those oils DO NOT have protein in them.

Coconut oil is at the bottom of the ceramide list it has 2% in it.
There is a list floating around which I am sure someone will post in due time.

pookaloo83, yes, there are leave-ins. I don't use them so can't give reviews on them. An example is Aubrey Organics Sea Buckthorn Leave-In Liquid Conditioner and Curl Activator.
