I wanna do braidouts but because I have so much new growth, when I airdry my hair it just mats up :nono:
So I was thinking of rollersetting to tame the new growth and then braiding it

Does anybody do this???

I am natural and I have done this many times. The set will stretch out your new growth so it will make it easier to manipulate your hair. My advice is to be extra gentle with both the roller set and when braiding the hair.

I will second this, im natural but I like to rollerset to smooth my hair out then when the rollerset gets alittle old I can do a nice braid out

When I was transitioning I did it a few times. Here's a link to a picture of how mine turned out

thanks
did you do cornrows/french braids or single braids??
sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to find the best way to do braidouts lol

curlynikki rollersets before twistouts/braidouts and her results are good...when i start wearing my hair straight i plan on making the rollersets last by turning them into other styles like twistouts/braidouts/bantu knot outs...

mikimix I don't quite remember but I probably did 4 cornrows. (like split my hair down the middle longways and shortways and braided each section starting at the scalp)
