Wow! Thanks for your story! And you have lovely hair. And I don't think that disqualifies you. It's people who do have long hair that we (or at least me lol) look up to but go to for tips and direction for our hair. If people are hating, you must be doing something right

I love your hair in your sig and the flat twist out. I dont think you are disqualified, but I also wouldn't have considered your kindergarten/hs pics to be long hair. Looks like now is the longest its ever been going by your timeline and it looks great.

The kindergarten pic is my hair up in two ponytails and curled, so its not a length shot. I would say my hair has always been between apl & mbl. I would let it grow for a while and then cut. I don't have any relaxed length shots though. But yeah its longer now than its ever been.
