How long has it been since you've been to a salon?

I know for me it's been 6 years.....

I want to go get trims, but I always end up doing it myself because I get nervous about other people handling my hair.... :ohwell:

How long has it been for you DIYers out there?
 
One week exactly. I got this BC. She wants me to come back in two weeks, but I don't think so! Whatever needs to be done with this tiny bit of hair I can do myself.
 
1 year since I went to a salon in Spain to try a blowout. It had been 1 year and a half before that. After I started doing my own relaxers, I didn't have a reason to go.
 
7 years. i used to go to a barber everytime i had the urge to go back to a twa but learned i can do it on my own with the results i wanted. i don't like them trying to shape up my edges--doesnt work for me.
 
Decemeber 2010. Dominican salon. Never again. And since I am transitioning I am sure I won't ever be back in a salon.
 
yesterday, for a trim - i can't do my own trims
the last time before that was a year and two weeks ago when went to cut my hair back to a TWA.

i liked the stylist, and she did keep things on low heat. even so, it was more heat than i've used in over four years!

NinjaBear...Well, since I've been relaxed all that time, a color was out of the question for me, because I feel it is too damaging to use 2 chemicals on my hair at the same time. I won't even use direct heat on my hair, as long as I am relaxed/texlaxed. Also, I've always liked my natural color. Now that the grays are popping in, I just use a semi-permanent color to cover them.

Pre-LHCF, my hair was so short that I would just trim it myself. I've never been interested in any particular cut or style; probably because I was too busy trying to get some GROWTH!:lol: I'm just so grateful to finally have some length now. When I reach WL, hopefully by December of this year, a family member will help me (using the creaclip) to do a U-shaped cut.
 
I haven't been since 19998/99?

I use to go every 2/3 months for a relaxer & trim, one of reasons stopped going was because price was never the same, it kept going up every 2/3 months!
