How long has it been since you've been to a salon?

I know for me it's been 6 years.....

I want to go get trims, but I always end up doing it myself because I get nervous about other people handling my hair....

Lol...It's been one week exactly!!! I went to get my greys covered and I will be going back so that I can get my retention back in check...but I've got a heck of a stylist dontspeakdefeat!!!

7 years. i used to go to a barber everytime i had the urge to go back to a twa but learned i can do it on my own with the results i wanted. i don't like them trying to shape up my edges--doesnt work for me.

yesterday, for a trim - i can't do my own trims
the last time before that was a year and two weeks ago when went to cut my hair back to a TWA.

i liked the stylist, and she did keep things on low heat. even so, it was more heat than i've used in over four years!

Woah thats a long time.... Have you ever wanted color or a cut in all that time but just didn't do it?

NinjaBear...Well, since I've been relaxed all that time, a color was out of the question for me, because I feel it is too damaging to use 2 chemicals on my hair at the same time. I won't even use direct heat on my hair, as long as I am relaxed/texlaxed. Also, I've always liked my natural color. Now that the grays are popping in, I just use a semi-permanent color to cover them.

Pre-LHCF, my hair was so short that I would just trim it myself. I've never been interested in any particular cut or style; probably because I was too busy trying to get some GROWTH! I'm just so grateful to finally have some length now. When I reach WL, hopefully by December of this year, a family member will help me (using the creaclip) to do a U-shaped cut.

I use to go every 2/3 months for a relaxer & trim, one of reasons stopped going was because price was never the same, it kept going up every 2/3 months!
