Well, I'm taking

Nutrilite: Hair skin and nails 1 tablet/day (morning).

Biotin, a B vitamin which may prevent nail brittleness and promote healthy hair and improve skin condition
Collagen, a major structural protein of connective tissues
Grapeseed Extract, a powerful antioxidant
Glycine, an amino acid that works in conjunction with collagen to promote skin moisturization
L-Cysteine, an amino acid that promotes the formation of keratin, a major protein in hair, skin and nails
Horsetail Herb Extract, a natural source of silicic acid and silica, traditionally associated with healthy hair and nails
Vitamin C, an important antioxidant

MSM [2 capsules (2000 mg) before bed).

They both have been working wonderfully. I haven't noticed any side effects with the MSM (I've only been taking it for 2 months). The nutrilite, I've been taking every day for almost 2 years. I cannot live without it.

I haven't used Hairfinity because of its price and neither have I used Nioxin. I selected other because I used another mix of vitamins.

I looked at the ingredients of Hairfinity and decided to take a multivitamin and MSM together which are some of the ingredients that make up Hairfinity. The MSM did give me some hair growth benefits but not very big ones, My hair became thicker though. And the multivitamin didn't make much of a difference (I took the multivitamin about two months before I took the MSM too) I think that's because I already had a balanced diet. But I pretty much take MSM and the multivitamin also for my health.

I also take Omega 3, 6, 9 capsules as much as I can and also garlic capsules whics but I can't say that my hair growth has been due to this as I took the MSM and multivitamin as well.

Now I'm restarting my vitamin regimen taking MSM 2000mg, 2 x 460mg cod liver oil capsules and 1 x 5000mg garlic capsule. I'll keep this post updated.

I just pack a sandwich bag of vitamins I buy at Dollar Stores and/or Walgreens to ensure I get all of the vitamins I want or need. I tote them in my purse, so I can take a few with each meal. There's no way I could take all of them in the morning or I'd get sick. So far this is what I'm taking and have already seen dramatic results in two weeks of consistently taking them:

1. Fish oil capsules (three times a day)
2. B-Complex (once)
3. Biotin (once)
4. Vitamin D (once)
5. Cayenne pepper capsules (twice daily)
6. Garlic capsule (once)
7. Feminine probiotic
8. Digestive probiotic
9. Acai chews
10. Kid's multivitamins

I also drink 1 to 2 glasses of aloe vera juice daily.

The things I listed under 5 through 8 probably don't contribute to hair growth but my overall health.

It seems a bit excessive, but I've seen not only dramatic results with my hair, but with my skin, energy levels, stamina when working out, digestion, and increased metabolism.

I am a vegetarian who might OCCASIONALLY eat fish, so starting to take these vitamins regularly have been the best thing I could have done besides going natural.

OP, I don't think you'll get one answer. Everyone's preference depends on what it is their hair was lacking so that the complex they pick actually made a difference by bringing in the missing link. People who eat well and vary their diet so it's replete with nutrients may not need to take any supplements, and their hair will grow very well. Others who may eat well but not get certain nutrients may find adding just one element is all it takes (eg biotin). Yet another may find they need all they can get because they aren't getting enough in their diet.

One thing I will tell you is that you can take hair specific vitamins all you want, but if you body isn't getting the complete nutrition it needs, your hair will never see any of it. First your body gets served (it's royalty, you see) then your hair and nails get the crumbs that fall off the table. That's just how things work. Also if you're not exercising or your circulation sucks, then your efforts may go to waste because your follicles may never see the nutrients. Of course if you digestion sucks, then again...you'll just pass the lot in your BM.

So whatever folks share, take it with a grain of salt because trust me, some of us tried the same and found they did nothing special so we quit. My guess is we were already getting whatever it is they were selling.
